I won't let magic destroy this familyThis is the only way. You have to let me go* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
It had been about two months since he had been forced to say goodbye to Cas as she was dragged off to the workhouses, somewhere he had spent a month trying to escape from. He would've gone after her, if he wasn't scared of what would happen if they saw him again, since he'd already escaped there once. The moment was still clear in his head, the moment of the first person he'd completely let in since being abandoned, being taken away from him again. Making him all alone again.
Bae had been spending the last week sleeping in an old abandoned building, but, he realised that people were moving into it, and it wouldn't be abandoned for too long, so he knew he had to get out of there before they realised he was in there, which wasn't hard, since he just had himself, so he just made his way out of a window and casually walked away down to the alley again.
As he stayed in the alley, he sighed and looked down at the ground, catching sight of the rips in the sleeves of his shirt. These rips were the reason he was in this mess, the result of him landing in this world after his father backed out of their deal and let his hand go.
“You coward, you promised, you'll break our deal” “I have to” “PAPAAAAAAA!!!!!!!”
Leaning against the wall, he came out of his thoughts as he heard his stomach growling and he knew he should try and find some food, if he could. Since most of the stall owners, still suspected him of stealing from their carts, so he may have to lay low there for a while. Stick with the trash-cans or make sure the cart owners were actually gone before taking from them.
He slowly made his way out of the alley, making sure no-one was coming before he placed his hands in the pockets of his pants and walked slowly down the path until he stopped just by a small group of houses, obviously a richer type of neighbourhood in this part of London. Bae stayed there, just examining the houses, and wondering what it was like to actually live in a house of any kind, instead of just an old alley or abandoned building he could find. More then that, he wondered what it would be like to live in one with his father.
Coming out of his thoughts, he found himself having to jump out of the way as a horse and carriage came down the road. This, being pushed back into reality, made him remember why he was here. Bae then moved his hands out of his pockets, and made his way over to the trashcans. Lifting the lids, he sighed as he saw them all almost empty. The closest thing he could find to food was an apple core, after letting out a soft sigh, he chucked it back into the trash can and examined the houses once more.
After checking the path was clear, he made his way across the road towards them and, as he examined the windows of the house, he soon looked around to make sure no-one was watching or coming towards him before climbing into the window of one of them and then looking around as he saw himself inside a large room, and he smiled happily as he saw bread sitting on the table and he made his way over towards them and soon starting ripping one apart and shoving it into his mouth, finally enjoying to have the chance at some actual food.
Bae then placed the rest into his pockets and was about to leave when he heard a growl from a dog under the table and he suddenly became scared and started to back away, he was about to move towards the window and leave the room, when he heard someone else enter the room and a voice call out to him.

Wendy sighed as she paced slowly and steadily around the room, her arms stretched slightly out to her sides. She rolled her dark eyes in annoyance, practically feeling her mother's scrutinizing gaze as she turned to walk the opposite direction despite being the only one in the house. Her mother had finally gotten Wendy to pursue the mannerisms of a lady, hence the book balanced atop her blonde head and the unbelievable straightness of her back. What's worse is that she'd finally started wearing a corset. Usually she'd ignore her mother's orders and spend her time doing other things, but if her mother noticed that she had not improved, it would only make it worse for her.
"'You must grow up, Wendy' she said." Wendy grumbled to herself, turning once again to follow the same path she'd been walking for the past fifteen minutes. Luckily her mother wasn't around to hear her, else she'd be given a long lecture. "'There is no room for childish games' she said."
With a frustrated sigh, Wendy snatched the book from her head and threw it on the nearby love-seat. If she had her way, she would slouch again, but the blasted corset wouldn't allow her to. The young blonde huffed, focusing on calming her nerves as she sat in a over decorated chair with various wooden engravings and designs. Being angry put weight on her heart she didn't want to carry. If she kept the anger in her heart harden, she'd be one step closer to being a grown up. She felt herself grimace at the thought of growing up. She refused to grow up!
Wendy sat there in her silence, listening to the bustling of the busy world outside the open window in the other room just beyond a set of open wooden doors. A quick movement caught her eye, a movement just outside the wooden doors. Perhaps it was one of her brothers or the family dog, Nana, but she surely would have heard them come in or Nana's claws tap rhythmically on the wooden floor. Bells rang in her head as she stood, slowly making her way to the door. Nana's intense growling and barking made Wendy jump and speed into the room. Nana hardly barked, so it was obvious there was something she didn't like.
Wendy looked up and saw a raggedy dressed boy, obviously from a lower class than she was, holding broken pieces of the bread she made. The blonde gasped and went over to the mantle above the fireplace, grabbing a marble statuette and holding it above her head. "Stop!" she screamed, coming closer to the young intruder. "Who are you? What do you want?" Neal Cassidy

Hearing the voice behind him, he stood dead in his tracks and wasn't sure what to do. Bae realised now he should've just taken the bread and eaten it once he got himself out of the building and now he was going to be found and possibly arrested or even worse back in those workhouses. He just wanted something to eat, something actual food. Even if he had to steal it in order to get it.
It wasn't like he had many options out there. He was broke and a 14 year old who was on his own, thanks to his papa abandoning him. He hadn't meant any harm, he just wanted to eat. It may have been just bread to this family, but, to him it was more food then he'd had in a long time. They wouldn't have missed just one or two loaves of it.
As he continued to stand there with his hands in his pockets, he knew he would have to face the music of this person catching him breaking into their house. Whether they would wake their parents or kick him out themselves he didn't know. He would have to just face the music and the consequences of whoever it was, by turning around and saying why he was here in their living room with his pockets full of their bread.
Seeing the girl as he turned around, his look of shock turned into a smile as he examined the girl. In the eyes of a lost boy she was pretty. Even if she was holding a weapon above her head. Bae stayed hypnotised by her and just looked at the young girl standing there with her blonde hair and deep coloured eyes, and then he suddenly remembered what he was doing here.
He finally spoke as the young girl continued to hold the weapon “Please, I don't mean any harm. I was just...” Bae paused and pointed to the bread on the table, in his way trying to imply that he was only hungry, but, his mouth fell open in surprise and slight fear as the bread dropped out of his pocket onto their floor.

Wendy was livid that someone would dare break into their house. She had the mind to throw the statuette at him and call for the police, but after taking a moment to look at him - really look at him - she noticed he really wasn't doing any harm. This boy was no older than she was. The blonde's nerves calmed down and were refilled with concern and sympathy, lowering the statuette.
"Oh," she breathed out in realization, glancing between him and the bread. "You're hungry?" It was more of a statement than a question. She caught his look of humility and guilt and the way he avoided her gaze, but chose to ignore it to spare him even more embarrassment. Such a terrible, terrible thing, she thought to herself, being so young and having to fight for your life. Her young heart went out to the boy. She decided then and there that she would do her very best to do right by him in any way she could. The only problem was her parents, but it wasn't a problem if they didn't know.
Wendy walked to the table, placing down her weapon and moving to pick up the tray of bread. The largeness of the tray made her look even smaller than she already was. She went to stand in front of the boy, the juxtaposition between them extremely evident, and held it out to him. "Here. Have as much as you like." she invited kindly. She was happy to share everything she had with him.

Bae continued to glance at the girl, fear in his eyes as he waited for her to use the weapon and either call her parents or the police and kick him out of there. He looked around, knowing that, even if he could get himself out of the window, it wouldn't do any good, since she knew what he looked like now. Turning back to the girl, he let out a soft sigh in relief as he saw her lower the weapon, although, he did still worry about being reported to someone.
Gesturing to the bread, he looked at her open-mouthed and he nodded gently before looking down at the ground and kicked the air, still feeling guilty for breaking into this place at all. Bae had just meant to be in and out, then back to fending for himself on the streets and not causing any harm to other people. Minding his own business.
Bae continued to hold his breath, only letting it out once she put down the statuette completely. He then watched as she made her way over to the table and picked up the bread before carrying it over towards him. As the young girl moved closer to him, he was able to examine her beauty up close, the light coloured hair and her brown eyes which were full of life and happiness unlike his own. As she offered him the bread, he looked at her in surprise “Really?” Bae asked, not wanting to believe it.

Wendy looked at the boy, amused by his surprise and disbelief. The girl laughed melodically, only breaking eye contact to close her eyes and scrunch her nose slightly in the way that she always laughed. Her brown eyes looked up at his own again, holding the tray towards him more in insistence. He was acting so silly, she thought to herself. He reminded her of her youngest brother, Michael.
"Well I'm not about to let you starve to death!" she told him, tilting her head slightly and admiring him. She was always taught that she should be fortunate for what she has, but she always thought that you should give what extra of what you have to those who need it. This boy was no exception... speaking of the boy, she didn't know his name yet.
"What's your name?" she asked after a moment passed. Her face softening from it's previous joy. Wendy noticed that he was brightening up, but was still kept in his disbelief. It wasn't shown, but her heart fell when she thought about how defensive he was. He must have not met any sort of kind person for a while in order for him to develop such a walled personality.

Hearing Wendy's laugh, he smiled softly. The way her nose scrunched up was just so cute, of course this may be coming from a lost boy. Bae just looked at her as she closed her eyes and he smiled, tilting his head slightly. Bae smiled at her softly as she opened her eyes looking at him again and he stepped back slightly as he watched her move the tray closer to him, almost insisting he take some food.
At her words, he tilted his head before letting out a soft chuckle. Bae had never been one to take advantage of much, especially considering he didn't have anything to take advantage of anymore. Bae was relaxing a bit more now, since she didn't seem as eager to call the cops on him as she had seemed before and his fear was slightly going away. He took some more of the bread from the tray before taking a bite of it and looking at her.
Looking at her, he raised his eyebrows at her question. Bae wasn't sure he should say his actual name, just in case this girl did change her mind, but, there was no real harm in doing so really. Bae was happier then he had been when he first got here, but, his walls were still up around her, as they were with most people. It was just safer this way for a while, until proven that it was safe to let them down, even slightly. “Bae” Bae finally said, before smiling at her.

"Bae?" she repeated, her eyebrows raising slightly. "How unusual." Oops, she thought to herself, that remark sounded a lot better in my head. Wendy looked away for a second once again as she was lost in her thoughts. 'I hope I didn't offend him.' With an energetic grin, Wendy watched Bae, pleased that he took more of the bread. Perhaps later, she'd make him a proper meal. She'd been hoping for someone to test her cooking skills... It was then, she noticed, that she'd never spoken to another boy other than John and Michael before. Her father did well to hide her from boys her age, despite soon becoming at the age where she would have to start grooming herself for courting and potential marriage. She had to resist the urge to roll her eyes at the thought. The inevitable act of growing up was coming faster and would arrive sooner than she liked.
What did girls talk about to boys? All her mother and father ever talked about was neighbor gossip or just overall grown up things, and what worried grown ups never worried a child. All she and her brothers talked about were stories and fairy tales. She guessed she'd start with an introduction! "I'm Wendy," she said, finally, in a matter-of-fact tone. "Wendy Moira Angela Darling."

As she repeated his name, he couldn't help, but, smile. For some reason it sounded so much better coming from her lips. Bae looked at her and tilted his head as she said it was unusual. Bae knew that this was true, he wasn't from this land, so of course it was unusual, at least to someone like her. Bae nodded softly, "Thanks, I guess" Bae said, before looking down at the ground again, as he continued to eat the bread she offered him.
Bae hadn't talked to a girl since Cas, but, those were different circumstances. When he was with Cas, they had been in the same situation so there was less awkwardness. With this girl Wendy, there was something different about her. They were on different levels of class this time, she was a rich-er type girl from a family, and he was a lost boy from the streets. Normally they didn't mix, but, he hoped they would find a way to get past this and he could have a new friend, maybe even a family.
What would he talk about with this girl and her family though? The only real stories he had, before the streets were of his homeland and his life in the Enchanted Forest. Bae would figure it out, maybe they would be interested in those. Bae came out of his thoughts when he heard her speak again, this time introducing herself. Bae just smiled, "Nice to meet you Wendy" Bae said, before looking at her and nodding "A beautiful name for a very beautiful girl." Bae said, before realising what he said and blushing slightly, before looking away.

Wendy's cheeks were dusted with pink after what he said, making her look to the ground in embarrassment. She was used to being called a beautiful girl from all the women relatives she spends time with, however they weren't as straight forward. They usually ended up being 'oh, you look just like your mother', and Wendy's mother was indeed beautiful, so she took it as an indirect compliment. "Oh, well, thank you, Bae." she replied, giggling a bit. "I like your name, too. It's one of a kind." She knew this statement was definitely true. Nearly all the men on their street were named John or James, it was so bleak. Wendy glanced at him and just started to realize how dirty he was. It must be uncomfortable. Walking to the sitting area, silently inviting him to follow her, she set the tray down on the coffee table."Here, why don't I draw you a bath? No one is home, so no one will notice. You can also borrow some of my brother's old clothes for the meantime while I wash yours, if you want me to? Oh, I can make tea, too, if you want!" she offered eagerly with a smile. She wanted Bae to feel as comfortable as possible, a good treatment after being through such an experience as homelessness.
