“It reminds me of those things too, but, it also reminds me of cherries and apples.” Bae said, smiling softly at her. “Yes, blue is a good one too. Well, if blue is all of those things, then you are blue all over. Calm, welcoming and sweet.” Bae looked down before watching her sit down in front of him. Continuing to drink the tea, he looked at her and continued to enjoy the feeling of having a warm beverage going down his throat. Seeing her reaction to his question, he raised his eyebrows slightly. At her first question he shook his head, “No, I don't know what they are and I definitely haven't seen one before.” Bae said, looking at her. It may be a popular and well known thing in this world, but, back in the Forest they weren't exactly around.
As he felt Wendy take his hand, he felt a sudden warm feeling coming to him. “It seems I don't have much of a choice then doesn't it?” Bae asked, smiling softly. Bae was, admittedly intrigued by what these bubble things were. As they arrived in this bathroom, he raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth in surprise, seeing the size and fanciness of it. “Wow!” Bae said softly to himself, as he followed Wendy towards the tub. Turning to face Wendy, he took the purple bottle she handed to him and he looked at it. Bae looked at it confused, and he continued to move it around, trying to see what these bubble things were. After hearing Wendy's words, he raised his eyebrows and opened the bottle slightly “Really?” Bae asked, as he finished opening the bottle all the way and then lifted himself up slightly and poured a bit of it into the water. “Nothing happened” Bae said, when he saw it just sink. Bae turned back to Wendy, as he took a closer look at the bottle “Did I do it wrong?”

Wendy laughed at Bae's naivety, shaking her head and retrieving a wooden paddle from the same side table. "No, you didn't do it wrong, silly. However, what you didn't do was finish the process!" Showcasing the paddle to him for a moment, she took it by the handle and stuck it in the water, stirring it around the water and making it gently bubble. She explained the process to him on how mixing the water and soap together would make bubbles. "You just keep doing that until you get as many bubbles as you like." she finished with a giggle, handing him the semi-sudsy paddle. "Now you try!"
They switched items - he holding the paddle and she with the bottle of soap - and she observed him as he experienced his first bubble making. "And don't be afraid to use the soap, Bae. You can adjust it to your preference. Do you want lots of bubbles?" she asked, excitedly, taking the cork out of the bottle once again, ready to put more of the purple liquid in the tub. She was thoroughly enjoying her time with Bae and hoped that it would last for much longer than two hours... well, one-in-a-half now.

Hearing Wendy chuckle at him, Bae raised his eyebrows as he focused on Wendy who grabbed a wooden paddle. He found himself flinching slightly as she came closer to him with that paddle worried that he would be punished like last time he seemed to not do it right. He calmed down slightly, as she reassured him he didn't actually do it wrong. Raising his eyebrows in confusion, "What do you mean?" Bae asked, while still worringly looking at the paddle in Wendy's hand as she went to move it closer to him, but, calmed down when she merely put it in the water instead. Listening to her tell him how this process worked, he looked at her slightly fascinated by it. "Wow. So just mix them around, that's what I was doing wrong?" Bae asked, as he watched Wendy giggle and smiled at her. Bae flinched slightly again as she moved it towards him, but, just looked at her as she told him to try. "Ok. I can do that."
Bae held the paddle in his hands, with so much memories coming into his head. He decided to just ignore it, since this wasn't for the same reason as the last time someone had moved a paddle that close to him. He continued to stir it around the tub, as he started to see some foaming things start to foam on top of the water. "Well, I'm still not sure what they are, but, let's add some more, since you say they're good." Bae wanted to trust Wendy and, he was loving this time he had with his new friend, no matter what that meant. The problem was, would he be able to avoid getting caught by her parents or brothers when they returned? Bae would just enjoy the limited time before her parents came home. However, much time that was. Continuing to stir, he looked at the tub and pointed to the ball things floating on top. Raising his eyebrows in surprise, he looked at Wendy before pointing to the things at the top. "Are those the bubbles? Or did I do it wrong again?" Bae asked, before turning back to face Wendy.

Wendy smiled, liking the way he looked at his new discovery. There was something she liked very much about this boy, she just couldn't put her finger on it. Bae put new colors into the artwork she was calling her life that she knew she wouldn't be able to find in anyone else. Nodding her dirty blonde head excitedly as she half listened to him, Wendy glanced at the large clock at the other side of the room. There was just a little over an hour until her family returned home. "Those are bubbles, Bae! Congratulations on making your first bubble bath." she said with a laugh, looking back at him.
Standing up from her kneeling position by the bathtub, she dusted off her purple skirt. "Well, you've made such a lovely bath, why not enjoy it?" she said, silently telling him to get in the tub, although she was oblivious to the fact that he was a boy and she was a girl. Wendy went to a chest off to one side of the bathroom, opening it up and pulling out a few articles of boys clothing. After examining them, and grabbing a towel, she brought them over to Bae, holding them out to him. "Here, and while you do that, I'll wash your clothes." she glanced at the clock again.

Bae just continued to watch in awe as the foamy bubble things grew on the water, before staring back at Wendy. There was something he really liked about this girl, she was different to most other people that he'd met before. Of course, most of them had been from a world full of magic, and from this world, she was one of the only two people who had actually seemed kind and treated him as a person. Looking at Wendy, he smiled and raised his eyebrows and he ran the tip of his fingers over the top of the water. Hearing Wendy confirm, he smiled as he looked at her. “Thank you. So what do I do now?”
Looking at her as she stood up, he stood up beside her dusting off his clothes. “You mean, actually have a real bath?” Bae asked, surprised that she was really offering him a chance at a real bath, but, he still hadn't caught on that he was a boy and she was a girl. Bae was just excited at the chance for a real bath, not just a really cold shower like in the workhouses, or ones he could find in those old buildings he camped out in. As Wendy went off to a chest in the room, he dusted off the shoulders once again, before he started to unbutton the shirt, before stopping instantly as Wendy came back. “Um, thanks” Bae said, taking them from her. “Sounds good to me, but, I may just change in... um... another room” Bae finally realising the situation they were in, being a boy and a girl.

"Of course a real bath, silly. I wouldn't go through all that trouble just to waste it, would I?" she said teasingly, holding out the small stack of clothes. "Besides, you look deserving of one." An apologetic smile made its way to her face. She hated to admit it, but he did smell slightly, though she couldn't blame him.
Looking back at Bae with doe eyes, Wendy waited, until what he said made her cheeks flush pink "O-Oh! Of course! I mean no! I'll leave. You stay here!" she sputtered, making her way out of the room with haste. She closed the large door behind her and leaned against it, exhaling deeply. Good Lord, she'd never been so embarrassed in her life. "Enjoy your bath, and take your time, Bae!" Wendy called out. "Although, if you hear me knocking uncontrollably on the door, it probably means hide as fast as you can because my family's returned. No pressure, however!"
Wendy then walked away from the door to give him privacy, walking through every room in the house to make sure no one came home without her knowledge. The coast was clear for now, and they probably had another hour. The dirty blonde sighed and look at the abandoned tea she left on the table. Wendy took a moment to reflect on the events that occurred the past two hours and realized that it was probably the two most interesting hours of all her fifteen years. Pouring herself a decently hot cup of tea, she went to go sit by the window and stared out onto the horizon of London.

Bae smiled and sighed softly "Oh right, of course not. I just haven't gotten a real one in a long time." Bae said, taking the clothes gently from Wendy. "I'm sure I do, it's been a long time." Looking at Wendy, he couldn't help, but, smile. She had shown him more kindness in this short amount of time, then most others had had in a long time. He was sure he smelled a bit, since it had been 4 months since a real shower or bath of any kind had come upon him.
After telling Wendy, he'd change in another room, Bae waited to see what would Wendy would say in response to it. Seeing the colours of her cheeks change, Bae felt his own doing the same thing. Hearing Wendy's response, Bae figured that she probably realised the same thing he just did. Noticing her leave, Bae hoped he hadn't scared her off, but, smiled softly as she just shouted something kind back in response. "I will. Got it. Thanks Wendy" Bae said, although, he knew that having to run out of somewhere before owners or people got home was nothing new to him, in fact it would've been new if he didn't have to, and could just stay put for a while.
Letting out a soft sigh, Bae slowly undressed before looking down to the side of his stomach, as he saw the scars from the workhouses once again, gently running his hands over them. He blinked back tears, as he shook himself back into the present and made his way into the bath. The warmth of it was nice, and a relief for him, as he sat back and ran his hands over those things Wendy called bubbles.
Grabbing the shampoo from a shelf, he ran it through his hair, as he attempted to wash it, making sure his eyes were shut tight, before dunking his head under the water to rinse it out and get it completely out of his hair.
Bae then just leant back against the edge of the bath, resting his head gently against it. Closing his eyes, he let his mind wander, even if he didn't like what he saw all that much. He made sure to keep his ears alert, something else he'd gotten pretty good at, in order to make sure no-one caught him in here, even if he had Wendy to alert him of the same thing.

Glancing at the clock then out of the window, Wendy realized that they would only have another hour before her family returns home from wherever they were. Sighing, the dirty blonde began to think. She couldn't very well just ask her parents if he could stay. They'd barely let her read a book, let alone have a boy stay with them. Michael and John were terrible liars, as well, so it appears that Bae's existence would have to remain her dirty little secret. There was a hidden room within the walls of the nursery that the Darling had built in case of emergency. It had passed far from the memory of her parents, so she supposed Bae would stay there. It was small and nowhere close to being as comfortable as a real bed, but it was someplace safe and better than the streets, no? Although Michael and John are going to find out sooner or later if Bae stayed in there... as long as her parents didn't find out.
Setting her teacup down in her lap, Wendy massaged her temples. Many people - women especially - believed that Wendy thought too much. Apparently, girls her age were supposed to be beautiful little fools with empty heads who grew up to be even more beautiful fools with even more empty heads. She felt herself roll her eyes.
Picking the teacup from her lap and setting it down on the table, Wendy went over and took the pile of Bae's clothes, going into the kitchen to wash them. As she dunked them into soapy water, she thought of mending the rips and tears after they'd dried. It was the least she could do for him. Scrubbing the soiled outfit, she hummed to herself a tune about mother's, one her mother - ironically - used to sing for her and her siblings.

As his eyes remained closed, Bae's thoughts ventured back to his father and life back in the Forest. He heard a faint calling out of his name in his father's voice and he wondered where it came from. Bae's eyes shot open and he felt a small tear leaving his eyes.
Focusing on his current situation rather then the past, Bae wondered where he could stay in this place. He didn't want to risk being caught, Bae was good at being quiet as a mouse, he just hoped that these brothers of Wendy's wouldn't tell their parents, causing him to have to run again.
Bae finished washing his hair and then just sat back in the bath for a little bit longer. The warmth of the water was something he hadn't had in months. Glancing out of the window, he watched to see if a car was pulling up just yet and was relieved to see when the coast still seemed clear.
Standing up Bae grabbed the towel from the railing and wrapped it around himself as he stepped out of the tub. Standing there and drying himself off as best as he could before changing into the clothes Wendy had given him before he started taking his bath. Bae wrapped the towel around his head to allow his hair to properly dry, as he made his way back into the main room.
Bae looked around and then heard a faint humming from another room. Entering the kitchen, he smiled and looked at her "Nice tune." Bae said, as he then noticed she was cleaning his clothes. He stood there and gently leant against the door frame, before speaking softly. "You may be there a while there's about 6 months worth of dirt on and in those." Bae said, a slight sadness in his tone as he admitted that out loud.

Wendy looked to Bae, stopping her chore for a moment to look at him, greeting him with a bright smile. He looked much better and more comfortable, happy, even. It was a much better look on him. She giggled at the towel wrapped around his head, though. It looked very silly in a good way. Turning back to the now murky and sudsy bucket of water, Wendy proceeded to scrub the fabric. "Well, I'm very well not going to admit defeat!" she said, concentrated and determined, dunking his clothes back under the water. "These clothes are going to be bloody spotless by the time I'm finished with them." Wendy imagined her mother's horrified expression at her language. Looking over her shoulder, Wendy looked pointedly towards the table, inviting him to sit down again. She had reset the bread and tea on the table. The dirty blonde had tried to make him a complete meal, but her cooking skills were still below par and there was no time.
Speaking of no time, Wendy heard the front doorknob jiggling. Fear struck her heart and she immediately looked to Bae. "Bloody hell. They're home." She looked around for a moment, clueless as to what to do, until she took his clothes out of the water, wrung them, and shoved them into his arms. "Quickly! I've a place for you!" Wendy rushed to the table, grabbing the plate of bread and cheese. Her heart fell, not because she was afraid of her parents finding out, but because things were ruined just as they were getting better. Wendy ran with Bae down the hallway of her home and into the nursey, immediately going to the far wall and nudging it open to reveal a small crawling space. "In there! Please be very quiet until I come back. My brothers and I sleep in here, so even if you hear us in here, don't come out." she instructed, ushering him in the space and handing him the plate of food. Placing a rushed kiss on his cheek, Wendy gave him a look before shutting the door to the space. "I'll come back. I promise."
The eldest Darling ran back to the kitchen, stopping for a moment to look at the door, surprised that it hadn't opened yet. She listened and heard a small commotion - an argument between her parents. Her father had misplaced his keys somewhere and they were trying to find it. Good, that gave her time to figure things out. Rushing back into the kitchen, Wendy dumped out the bucket of dirty water. That's when she heard the door open. 'Wendy! Where are you, child?' she heard her mother call out. Sighing, Wendy came out, greeting her family. 'Good Heavens! Why on Earth is your dress so wet? Did you eat an entire loaf of bread?! Wendy Moira Angela Darling, that is no way to act like a lady. Eating like a pig, why I never!' Wendy lowered her head, feigning apology with her hands held behind her back. "O-Oh. I tried to... give Nana a bath, mother. I also decided to feed her bread because she looked hungry. I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking."
