Neal smiled softly as he kept his grip on Lily's hand, feeling the same way he did as all those years ago, with feelings he hadn't really admitted out loud before that moment in Storybrooke. Neal hadn't felt like he could be wanted enough to be able to be more open about his feelings. His rules were don't blush or show his feelings straight away, that wasn't the reason he had gripped her hand. “I like the sound of it too. I know that I needed it when I first got here. Well, then I will be your personal distraction and tour guide.” Neal smiled softly as she moved herself closer to her.
It felt normal to have the closeness between them again. Neal didn't mind it, he was starting to feel a lot more closer to people then he once had. “Yeah, he is a great kid. I didn't believe it at first either. I mean, little lost boy Neal Cassidy actually having a family.” Neal had always wanted to find a way to have a family, and, get a fresh start. But, he hadn't thought it was possible, since he hadn't even been able to be adopted, and, he definitely hadn't stayed put long enough in the places. The mood was being killed by the talk of Snow and Charming, especially since they had been nothing, but, kind to him. “Yeah, that is something. We can work together to make sure it stays that way.”
Neal knew that Lily would probably be confused about the mention of revenge and him being in the middle of it. But, it was a part of his past that hopefully didn't matter anymore. Feeling Lily's hand going on top of his other one made a warmth go through his body that he hadn't felt in years. Lily meant a lot to him, and, he didn't want to lose her again. He was going to take it slow with this relationship with the two of them, it had gone a bit fast with Tamara, and, even with Emma at times. He didn't want this one to end the same way this time.

S he had never once doubted Neal would have a family. He had a way that just seemed more at ease with house , and white pickett fence. Lily had that once the desire of that but she had lost or maybe it lost her. Frowning thinking back to all those bad choices she had made over the years pilling up around her. I saw that in you the family man situation you kind of struck me as the dad who would do any thing for his kids. removing her hand from his , lofted it up brushing back one of his wold curls that had decided plop down on his forehead. Smirking the corner of mouth twitched up grab your drink I feel like playing pool. Sliding out between them grabbing her glass heading over to the empty pool table. The bar had gotten more deserted as they had talked which seemed like a few minutes when in reality was close to an hour and half. So far so good Lily thought setting her drink down on the table top nearest the pool table. let this be our first distraction. I don't feel like going back to the inn where I will run into my mother. Plus the longer I stay out the better chances I can win back some of that money you hustle from me that is unless you want to wager something else? bowing her head lily knew Neal was there behind her . she didn't haven't to turn to know , it was like she felt him there. Twisting her head looking over her shoulder so I'm most definitely taking you up on your offer . shrugging out of her black leather jacket draping it on chair. I'll rack the balls grab two sticks for us.

Growing up, Neal had doubted whether he'd ever find a family that would really be his. He had held onto that dream for a long time once, but, as he grew up the dreams faded. He lost his chance the moment he aged out of the foster system, or maybe he'd lost it before that. He may never know for sure. “Well, I found it hard to believe for a while. But, I always knew that if I ever did have kids. I would do anything for them, and, always put them first. Which I've done a few times since meeting mine.” Neal said, sighing softly. As Lily's hand went from his hand to his hair, Neal couldn't fight the smile on his face. “Alright, well I guess I don't have a choice.”
Neal grabbed his drink from the counter, and, just sat there watching her go for a minute. Glancing around, Neal noticed that the bar had started to empty, so it was mainly just him, Lily and a few other drunks who probably wouldn't even be able to find their way home. Their talk must've taken a lot longer then he thought it had. But, it didn't matter to him too much. He liked the idea of just him and Lily again. “And I'm still not sure how I feel being around my father too much at once. You'll have to be out for a long time, if you claimed that I did hustle. That depends on whether you can handle losing anymore money.” Neal said, as he walked up behind her.
A small smile grew on his face as Lily turned to face him and he nodded gently at what she said “Well then good. Because it was a non-optional offer anyway.” Neal said, chuckling softly. “Alright. I'll grab them.” Neal headed over to where the cues were kept, and, he grabbed two of them, before looking back at Lily. Bringing the two sticks back, Neal leant against the table. “You know. There is probably one other thing we could wager” Neal said, before taking Lily up in his arms, and, doing something he should've done a long time ago.

I t didn't surprise Lily to find out that Neal had already began to take a more active role in his sons life. I wouldn't mind meeting Henry at some point . laughing pulling her hair into a bun to get it off her neck and away from her face. then I can tell him all the embarrassing stories. sticking her tongue out laughing once more. Racking up the balls into a triangle , oh someone is admitting to hustling and maybe I've learnt all new set of moves ones that you haven't seen before she missed this the easy laid back flirtation that happens between them . arching a brow leaning against the stick Neal grabbed for her. Betting for something else now that was a new trick for his play book. Nodding her head smiling coyly at Neal. oh is that so ? And what did you have in mind Cassidy? she had an small idea but she wasn't about to make a complete jack ass of her self again. Though it would be fun to see his reaction if she just surprised him out of the blue. Yep she was feeling no pain at this point a bit buzz off the drinks this why you should eat before going out Lily. She had been nervous to do , it was Neal the same guy she had cared for long time she just didn't want to mess it up like she had done before.

IT'S HOW YOU KNOW YOU'VE REALLY GOT A HOME. WHEN YOU LEAVE IT, YOU JUST MISS IT Neal had immediately wanted to spend time with his son and get to know him, be the father he always wanted his own to be. “I think that can be arranged.” Neal said, smiling softly at her. Neal ran a hand through his hair, just to fix up the unruly mess it had become. “Go ahead, it's not like you have many.” Neal playfully stuck his tongue out back at her. Watching Lily rack up the balls, he headed off to get the sticks for them. “I'm not admitting to anything. Well, I'm sure you have. It's been a few years.” Neal said, in a joking way. This was something he'd missed, just someone who he could joke around and innocently flirt with. He kept his grip on the stick, as he smiled at Lily who just looked at him as he said the comment about wagering something else. “Well I do have one idea.” Neal said, smiling at her. There was one thing they could bet that may be a win-win for both of them. But, he didn't want to make a jack-ass of himself either. He knew he wasn't a kid anymore, but, there was still the same worry from before. What would happen if he did something on it? He could always blame the alcohol if she didn't like it, since they'd both been working up a buzz of some kind since they got here. “What I was thinking was we could wager this” Neal smiled and then moved closer to Lily, and, softly kissed her. Hoping she'd figure out what he meant. words: 266 | tags: @lily | notes: |

H eart beat drummed within her ear once Neal kissesd her tenderly. Letting the stick go so it could lean against the the rail of the pool table. Lily moved her hands up to his neck she kissed him back with little more force. It was still gentle but this was something she had wanted since she was 18. By the gods she was going to bank it. Leaning back breaking the kiss she was sure a blush was all over her face but it was worth it. I think that's a really a bet to make . she spoke breathlessly, that one kiss changed a lot she knew that. Smiling Lily was a bit dazed by the whole situation Neal had caught her off guard. In a excellent way looks like your moves have changed as well huh? Where did you learn to be so suave?Wanting to play it cool blindly she reached out for her pool stick not breaking eyes contact. stripes or kisses..I mean um solids . stripes or solids her voice squeaked out completely flustered .

Neal kept Lily in his arms, as he let himself kiss her. She was one of the only people who could get him to show this much emotion and have a chance to get past his walls. Feeling Lily move her hands to his neck, Neal smiled softly, but, kept his arms around Lily. He was glad when she started to kiss him back, this was probably something he should've done a long time ago. Based on his history he had just been scared that he would lose her, or not being wanted back. Neal would go with whatever it took, he wasn't letting fear stop him from doing anything again. As she pulled back, Neal smiled, and, leant back himself.
“Me too.” Neal said, with a smirk. He was getting better at taking risks when it came to his emotions, now that he knew that he was wanted the whole time. “Yeah, I guess they have. I think around the time I learnt I could let my walls down around certain people.”
Neal grabbed his pool cue, keeping his gaze on Lily at the same time. A small chuckle escaped his lips at Lily's slip up, “Well, why don't we see? Just play and the first ball that one of us sinks, then we'll work out who's what.” STARRING : NEAL CASSIDY & LILY PAGE WORDS : 219 NOTES : WRITE SUMTHING BANNER CREDIT : TANA TAGGED : @lily

Heat Spread over face over the silly mistake. The old her would have hightailed it out of there before dying of embarrassment . Smirking lily took position and striked the perfect triangle breaking the group up. Watching to see if any of the balls would land in a pocket . Not realizing she had been holding her breath.
Though she liked Neal, a lot even. But the dragon enjoyed winning as well. When the an orange white striped ball sunk into the top corner pocket . Unable to hide her happiness that she had gotten one in. so Emma tells me you lived in new York before storybrooke. I find it odd that we all lived so close but didn't know. I mean it is almost like fate wanted all of us together.
Taking her turn once more but it seemed that her luck had run out for now scratching the white ball sunk into a pocket.

Neal knew that, like her, he once would've rushed out of the bar, if she hadn't reacted well to what he'd done. Growing up it had been easier to just walk away from uncomfortable situations or situations where no-one cared about him, but, he didn't do that so much anymore. Neal instead, just watched Lily break the balls, trying to see whether anything sunk into the pockets.
One thing he remembered about Lily was that she had a thing with wanting to win. Watching a striped ball sink, Neal smiled. Guess he was spots then. A small chuckle escaping his lips at Lily's obvious happiness. “Yeah, I did. That is kind of odd, none of us ever saw each other. Maybe it was fate telling us what we needed to know.”
Watching the next balls Lily hit not sinking except for the white ball, made Neal stand up, and, grab his pool cue. “Ooh too bad. Two moves for me, for you sinking the white ball.”

Rolling her big brown eyes at Neal's tone for some his smart ass tone would have put people off. Not this girl , she enjoyed the blasts attitude from the man. oh is this going to turn in to famous 1997 pool table debacle? teasing stepping back so that he could come up to the table. leaning her butt against the table near their drinks.
leaning heavily on to the pool sticks. whats that ? your stuck being alone till you except your darkness and get your booty to Storybrooke? perking a brow not sure if fate was being cruel to manipulate them or just incredibly intelligent. how many of us do you think are out there like few or a whole city worth ? because i ask this if Storybrooke can exist then do you think there are other places like here out there ? things happen for a reason right well this was big show case of fate and destiny maybe taking over a life or in this case lives...Neal, Emma and her own.
