IT'S HOW YOU KNOW YOU'VE REALLY GOT A HOME. WHEN YOU LEAVE, YOU JUST MISS IT Neal knew that this may not have been what Lily expected to hear, but, they had a pact all those years ago for complete and total honesty. Keeping his gaze on his hand, Neal still saw the moment all too clear in his head. “I wish I did mean it that way” Neal said, with a small chuckle. Neal just hoped that Lily wasn't going to walk away from him again. Neal stood up as she did, but, decided to stay put instead of trying to follow her at this point. “Neither I can promise you that.” Neal said, knowing that if that was the case then Emma would've shot him when she had wanted to. The person who he might still have some feelings for was probably scared of him at this point, which isn't what he wanted. All he wanted was his life to stop being jerked around. “It's a long story. You really think you have the time to listen.”words: | tags: @lily | notes: |

J aw dropping news Lily stared at Neal with uncertainty. Moving toward the couch . Her brown eyes never once left his. Could this be really happening? Could people come back from the dead? She felt sick all of sudden her stomach twisted into knots. Taking a deep calming breath to help settle the nerves that were fully awake and ready to bolt. Patting the cushion next to her on the couch , trying to keep her voice as cool and collected as possible. I think I have a moment or two to share. So why you start from the beginning and work your way to the point you...came back. this place was beyond strange in less then three days she had been a dragon, gone into this twisted world of some writer and Neal was like zombie Neal. you don't brains right?

IT'S HOW YOU KNOW YOU'VE REALLY GOT A HOME. WHEN YOU LEAVE, YOU JUST MISS IT Neal saw and recognised the look of uncertainty, so many times he'd both seen it and had it growing up. Uncertain that things would work out. Neal looked into Lily's brown eyes, hoping she wasn't going to run away again. He may have died, but, he was back now. Magic worked in a weird way like that. Now, he was back by some unknown reason he still didn't even understand himself. But, he knew the feeling of wanting to run away, and, hoped that Lily wouldn't do this to him now.
Smiling softly as Lily patted the cushion next to her, Neal kept his hands in his pockets as he went to make his way closer to the couch. “Are you sure? Ok, I'll start at the beginning, and, tell you what I can remember.” Neal said, knowing that he didn't really remember how he came back. He forgot how life and complicated his life could be. Since coming back into it, he'd died twice, gone into an alternate reality of an author's, and, now reunited with Lily among other things. “Not that I know of” Neal said, with a chuckle as he sat down next to Lily. “The story starts when we all got sent back to the Enchanted Forest.”words: 211 | tags: @lily | notes: |

N odding her head at his question, she wanted to know . this place this Storybrooke may not be all she had hoped for as child. It seemed this town was darker then what was shown. Taking a deep breath as he sat down next to her. Normally Lily not a touchy feely person but with Neal she couldn't help it. Always had been that way, noticing his hands were hidden a way in his pockets. That was a habit of his , Neal would stuffed them in like was protecting his self . frowning that at the thought he felt like protecting himself. The brunette gently took his closest hand out of the pocket and held it. I'm not running relax . finger entwining with his . enchanted forest? So they went back wait so why are they here? is traveling to the enchanted forest possible still? And how did you get there? a thousand question bounced about in her mind she just wondered if that happened often here.

IT'S HOW YOU KNOW YOU'VE REALLY GOT A HOME. WHEN YOU LEAVE, YOU JUST MISS IT Neal could tell that this town probably wasn't what Lily had expected when she first went looking for it. He knew that this was never what he expected his home to become, like he never left the magic and the darkness that he had wanted to escape for so long. He smiled softly as he went to sit down next to Lily.
He wasn't so good with the letting himself feel things, but, like with Henry, Neal couldn't help it with Lily. Neal kept his hands in his pockets, a method of protection he'd picked up over the years, which Lily would probably actually recognise. Neal raised his head as Lily grabbed his hand from his pocket, and, gripped it. “Glad to hear it.” Neal said, smiling softly as he started to relax a little bit. At the mention of going back to the Enchanted Forest, Neal awaited Lily's reaction. “No, I don't think it is possible anymore. We got back there because a reverse curse was cast to take all of us back to the Forest, everyone except for my family.” Neal said, sighing softly as the memories came into his head.

Lily kept a hold of his hand not really wanting to let it go just yet. It was probably to reassure her that Neal was still the same that none of this really changed anything. Glancing down at the mess and back at Neal.
so we are stuck here then? she tried to hide the sadness in her voice. Knowing she wasn't really successful with that task. Loosening her grip standing up she would need to allow this to sink in before she would discuss it further.
\taking her jacket off draping it over the arm rest of the couch. this curse what would be needed do you know to complete it? if this was the only way maybe she could look into it . Everything had been taken she wanted to at least be able to see her real home...not this place.

Neal felt Lily keeping a hold of his hand, and, he found it surprisingly reassuring. Like he had when they were both kids, and, he hadn't had anyone else around to comfort him. It just felt like nothing had changed between them, even after all the years that had passed.
“Yeah, I guess in a way we are.” Neal said. He didn't necessarily see it as being stuck. For once in the longest time, he was exactly where he was meant to be. He was home. Neal could tell that Lily was sad, and, he just stayed sitting on the couch as he just looked at her.
Keeping his hands resting on his lap, Neal leant back as Lily asked that question. While he'd never had to do it, Neal remembered what Regina had said that day when they both had to say goodbye to Henry. “Well, to be able to cast the curse, you need to sacrifice the person you love the most.” Neal said, sighing softly.

This news rocked her to core, pressing her hands against her stomach. Then there really wasn't a way for her to be home. The only person that lily cared for was Neal. Maleficent was still a stranger one that she wanted to know but never the less still a stranger. Emma was a ghost of her past only reminding her of the bad things. Neal was a bright spot in the bleak abandonment she had called a life.
Sighing resting her back side on the desk. To have hope and then dash a few times in one week was a lot for one to suffer. All the years she had been angry was for nothing . Wiping tears of frustration from her cheeks we can't go home? So what do we do then? she had been searching for home for so long now Lily didn't know where she belong.

Neal still wasn't even sure how they had gotten back here to this town. The last thing he remembered was being inside his father. Who cast the curse he still wasn't sure? Let alone what was given up as a result. It wouldn't have been him, because everyone he had loved in the world hadn't been in the Enchanted Forest with him. Now that the memories were back, maybe he'd ask one day. Or maybe it wasn't his business.
Watching the reaction from Lily, Neal wasn't sure what to say. He didn't want to say the wrong thing again, and, he certainly didn't want to scare her off. At Lily's question he smiled softly before shaking his head. “I don't know. I guess we just play it by ear. Together.” Neal said, as he took a light grip of one of her hands.
