“Okay, you are right, maybe we indeed need to wait a little while longer to continue our journey. As a matter of fact, I think that’s a great idea. Now I can lie down for a moment, if that’s okay for you? I didn’t sleep last night, just like you, so I can use a bit of sleep.” He lie down on the soft moss and leafs and turned his back to Red, already feeling his eyelids getting heavier. He really needed to sleep first. “Just wake me up when something is wrong okay?” With the sound of the birds and the wind that rushed through the leafs on the trees, the sound of streaming water somewhere on the background made him fall asleep even faster than he expected.

"Alright Charming, I will." Red said as she leaned back against a tree trunk. "Wait, how about if I wake you up in an hour?" But Charming was already asleep. Red laughed quietly to herself. She took another sip of water from the bottle that Charming got her earlier, and set it back down. She didn't want to finish off their only water supply. Red sat, and listened to the noises around her, trying to detect any sound of danger. Red opened up her ears, and tried to keep her breathing low so she could hear. Suddenly, a twig snapped in the bushes that were maybe a couple of feet from where they were sitting. Red didn't want to jump to conclusions, so she listened more closely. Another snap.
"Who goes there?" Red said finally. She tried not to speak to loudly. She didn't want to wake Charming.

Charming turned himself around in his sleep so he was facing Red. He was deeply asleep and didn’t hear the things that were going on at the moment. He sighed in his sleep, and hold his hand on the handle of his sword, out of habit. You never know what to expect when you were asleep. But this time he was that deeply asleep that he didn’t notice the noises of snapping twigs.

Red honestly didn't know what was behind those bushes, and not knowing things was beginning to frighten her. She walked over to where Charming was sleeping, and shook him gently.
"Charming, wake up." She whispered. "There's something out there, and, my wolf nose can't detect it. Charming, wake up!" She said, shaking him a little bit more. She knew that she shouldn't be acting this way, but she was scared. Red knew that one of her biggest fears was not knowing anything at all, in a given moment, and right now she was scared. She needed Charming to be awake right now.

The prince woke up by the shaking, his view still a bit vague he quickly grabbed his sword out of the holster and pointed it at Ruby’s direction. When his view was getting clear he realised that he was pointing his sword in the direction of the Red Hooded girl who was looking at him in fear. Suddenly he heard the same noises like Ruby did. “Stay here, I will go and have a look. Probably it will be just squirrels or something.” he hold the handle of his sword tightly, holding it ready to be used. Slowly he walked towards the direction of where the noises were coming from, trying not to snap any twigs himself. Before every step he took he studied the ground to make sure he wouldn’t step on something that could make some noise and would betray him on sneaking up to something. He looked around if he could see something already, but nothing was there. He had to hold himself to not yell “Who is there?”, he was determined to do it quietly this time.

Red nodded her hand, and waited for Charming to get back. She didn't know what was making those noises but whatever or whoever it was, it frightened Red. She rarely got scared anyway.
"Charming." She whispered. At this point she couldn't see Charming. "Where are you?" Red got up from where she was sitting, and tried to walk quietly. She didn't want to disturb anything. Red could feel her pulse quicken as she walked towards where Charming was. What could behind those bushes?

When Charming was standing not very far away from the bushes anymore, he decided that it was time to take them by surprise. Quickly he ran to the bushes and jumped over them, holding his sword in front of him “haaaa” he yelled, to make his appearance more fearful. Then he saw where the noises were coming from. He started to laugh when he realised he was doing all this to just scare away some squirrels who were collection nuts from fallen twigs. He shook his head while he laughed. “of course, squirrels…..”

Red almost had a heart attack when Charming jumped in front of the bushes with his sword. And when she saw that they were only squirrels, Red shook her head.
"Oh I feel so stupid. Why wasn't I able to detect silly squirrels with my nose?" Red asked Charming, who looked sort of dumbfounded. Red didn't want to mistake any more scents. If she pulled that stunt again, then the next time that they were really in danger, she wouldn't know. "I don't think I should track anymore scents for a while now, seeing that they only lead to false conclusions." Red said with a sigh.

Charming couldn’t stop laughing when he saw the with guilt loaded face of Ruby. “Don’t worry about it, it’s alright. I have to say that those squirrels were making noises you wouldn’t link to them. I failed for it as well” he gave her a smile, wanting to tell her that it really was alright. “You can’t know everything Ruby, making a mistake happens to the best” he yawned, feeling his eyelids getting heavy again as he barely slept. If it was for like half an hour it would be much. He put his sword into its holster again “It’s your turn to get some sleep now.”

Red sighed. "I just don't want to mess things up again." She said with a shrug. Red didn't know why Charming couldn't realize that. Red took pride in the wolf side of her. "And if you insist on me resting now, then okay." Red didn't want to argue with Charming on this one. She walked over to the nearest tree stump, and settled herself next to it. Red wrapped her hood tightly around herself, as a sort of defense mechanism. Red sighed as she began to drift off to sleep.
"Wake me up in half an hour, okay Charming?" She said before she shut her eyes.
