DURING THE CURSE AND THE EVENTS OF THE EP WELCOME TO STORYBROOKE
Ruby stood at the doorway of Granny's Diner, and she was pretty mad. She was just told by Granny that she would be working the early shift. Ruby didn't want that! She'd rather be out with her friends and having fun. She didn't want to be cleaning the dirty tables, or serving meals today. Ruby let out a frustrated sigh as Granny scolded her outfit of choice for the day. Ruby couldn't help that this was how she dressed! Suddenly the Mayor of Storybrooke walked by.
"Good morning," Ruby said, trying to sound calm, and not agitated.

"Good Morning, Ruby" Regina paused for moment arching a brow at the exchange between the two women. God this is wonderful, in their old realm they would have never acted like this. "Is everything alright?" She point at Ruby then back at Granny. "I hate to see family fight like that." The Mayor frowned and patted the tall brunette on the back,"I'm sure she means well, just looking out for you."
Regina tighten her coat around herself,"Walk me in." She tilted her head toward the door. She was excited this morning this morning to make breakfast that her stomach growled a little."oh excuse me, I ran out the door without eating."

"Yeah, everything's just fine." Ruby said with a huff, as she watched Granny disappear into the diner. Sometimes she just got a little steamed up with Granny. "And I'm sure she does mean well." Ruby said as she rolled her eyes the slightest bit.
"You want breakfast?" Ruby asked the mayor as she began walking towards the entrance. "Sure, follow me." Ruby said as she walked into the diner, after Granny. "And that's really no problem. I do that all of the time." Ruby told Regina, as she got the mayor situated at a table, and went over to get her apron on. She came back with a notepad and a pen. "What can I get you this morning?" She asked, trying to sound cheerful.

Regina smiled up at Ruby her eyes widen for a momentnot knowing what to say. So she just blurted the first thing to come to her head. "Apple pancakes and coffee." The Queen hoped that was right, she held her breath for a second, before looking about the diner. Everyone looked so different it was surreal to her , the fact that all these people seem to have no idea who they were. Staring off at all the people she had over the years, now reduced to nothing . She simper at that idea"I've won" she whispered. Before looking up at with arched brow"Is there anything else?"

"Apple pancakes and coffee coming right up," Ruby said as she scribbled down the mayor's order on her pad of paper. Ruby was suddenly distracted when another customer came through the door. "I'll be with you in a second, alright?" She told the customer, who nodded his head in return. Ruby turned her attention back to Regina.
"Well actually we do have a breakfast special this morning, I wasn't sure if you were interested. But we have homemade corned beef hash if you wanted that," Ruby suggested. While she waited for Regina's answer, she took the end of her pen and put it up to her mouth. It was a habit she's seemed to develop, since who knows when. Ruby checked on the man who was waiting to be seated, and told another waitress to take care of him.

"Corned beef hash? Um could have a small plate of that." Regina never heard of this , there so many things in this land that were different. The clothes for one were beyond unique,take Red.. sorry Ruby would never wear such revealing outfit back in their realm. The Queen smiled at the thought , I wonder what kind of trouble she got her self into here.
When Ruby returned back with her food ,Regina arched a brow at the hash. She picked up her fork pocking around the plate. "Thank dear, oh Ruby what have you been up to lately I feel as if I hardly know you." The Queen pushed the tiny plate of hash aside and started into the pancakes.

Ruby came back with Regina's order, and set it down in front of her. "Enjoy your breakfast." She said, an attempt in being cheerful. Ruby was still upset with Granny about what she said to her before she started work. When the mayor asked what she'd been up to lately, Ruby just shrugged her shoulders, and leaned on the table.
"The usual, working at the diner everyday, trying to convince my grandmother to let me out once in a while," Ruby said with a sigh. She wasn't sure why she was telling all of this to Regina, but she guessed that some small talk wouldn't hurt her. "Nothing too special, I mean I'm barely aloud out." Ruby said, rolling her eyes. She examined her manicured nails, as she waited for what Regina would say next.

Regina smiled and nodded"Thank you I will." She wiped her mouth with a napkin. She stared up at Ruby "Aw, but she does that because she cares for you, my dear. One day when you have your own family you will do the same ." She stated having to dig her nails into the fleshy part of her palm to keep from laughing. I want you to hope for something you can never have .
The Mayor titled her head at the girl when she started to look at her nails. She slowly arched a brow sneered a little."Am I boring you Ruby? I'm go check on your other tables my dear." Regina didn't even bother to look back up at her , she simply picked up her fork and began to eat again.

"What? No you're not boring me, sometimes I just get distracted easily." Ruby said as she shrugged her shoulders. It was true though, Ruby was the kind of person to get easily distracted by even the simplest things and Granny would yell at her for being distracted, and sometimes absent-minded.
"A family of my own?" Ruby scoffed. "What makes you think I even want that? All of that work? No, I can't see myself in that position," Ruby said as she watched the mayor eat her breakfast. She looked over at Granny, who was telling her to go check on the other tables. Ruby just rolled her eyes in return.

"Oh I sorry , I just thought because you were looking at your nails, that talking to me must be taxing to you." Regina with a mock smile. In truth she didn't care but just wanted to see what would happen if she got Ruby rile up. The other customer start to get antsy. Regina pushed her plate forward letting her elbow rest on the table. Wondering if Ruby would growl or scamper away?
The Queen arched a brow at the brunette, not wanting a family and being selfish about her time . Someone pinch me oh god this couldn't be any better if Snow White herself walked in. "So what do you hope for then Ruby?"
