Ever since Lily had told him about Emma becoming the Dark One, Neal hadn't really given it much thought. Since, she was, for the most part staying away from harming the ones he cared about. That could've been because it was the ones she cared about to. Or it could just mean that she was lurking from the shadows. Something he remembered his papa doing a lot when he was a kid. The Dark One watching from the shadows, until he knew he was going to be needed.
In return, Neal had left Emma alone, and, hadn't tried summoning her. Except for now of course. Emma had no longer stayed away from the ones he cared about. She had kidnapped his father, and, taken him somewhere. Where he wasn't sure, but, he wanted to find him. Not for him, so much as for Belle.
Neal would get answers from her, and, if anyone knew how to get answers out of a Dark One. It was him. His papa had always been one to give him anything he wanted when it came to answers, or even stuff he didn't actually want. He wasn't sure if Emma would be the same, but, he knew exactly how to find out.
Neal closed up his shop early, and, made his way to the wishing well in the woods of Storybrooke. One thing he knew was that you never summon a Dark One, without wide enough space to avoid their magic if necessary. Summoning them when you're in a closed or tight space is just asking for a whole lot of trouble.
Placing his hands in the pockets of his jeans, Neal sighed and stopped for a minute. Why couldn't his life for once, not be ruined by magic or not involve the Dark One? Neal may never know, but, he would try with all of his might to find out. And hopefully one day have it for good.
Reaching the wishing well, Neal sat down on the edge of the well, and, took a deep breath before standing up, and, preparing himself to call the Dark One, the new Dark One. “Emma Swan, Emma Swan, Emma Swan.”

With the effects of grey smoke Emma appeared, sitting down on the edge of the wishing well, her legs crossed and her eyes focused onto the man who desperately wanted to talk to her. “Neal” with a low voice and a small smile Emma greeted the man. “I suppose you didn’t let me come here to tell me about the magical powers of the water that rest inside this well.” She paused. “I know how you despise to summon the dark one. Even now when that role went to someone else.” That small smile changed into a grin while she pushed herself off the edge of old well, slowly and calculated walking to Neal. “Nor didn't you call me here to talk about rainbows and unicorns…” her last step ended in front of Neal, looking in his eyes like she was studying his possible intentions. "Why did you want me to come over here Neal?" Emma had quite the idea onto what the reason might be. That certain reason would be called Rumplestiltskin. The news on her hiding him somewhere surely made it through this town quickly. “How’s Henry?” Emma didn’t hear a lot from him, which made her miss her talks with him, the bond that they once had. After everything that had happened in Camelot it was important for the kid not to know the truth. She didn’t had a choice back then, even though she did the most cruel deed a mother could possibly do. She would try to make it up to him, she promised that to herself and to Henry. She didn't ask Neal about Henry only to know how he was doing, but it would keep him from asking her the most burning question he carried with him at the moment. Neal Cassidy

Watching the wishing well, he noticed and recognised the smoke, meaning that the Dark One was here. Neal kept his hands in the pockets of his jacket, and, just looked at Emma. He was surprised at how Emma looked now. “Emma” Neal said in a serious tone with a small smile. “You're right, but, I'm sure you already knew that answer.” Neal knew how the Dark One worked. They always knew in advance what the person who was summoning them wanted. “Of course I hate the Dark One. In whatever form it's in, or whatever person.” Neal looked at Emma, as she came towards him. His gaze never leaving hers in the process.
“If I wanted to talk about that, I called the wrong person.” Neal said, smiling softly. “Well, I wanted to talk to you. But, I think you already knew that.” If Neal remembered the Dark One right, then Emma would already know it was about the fact that she kidnapped his papa, and, hid him somewhere. Neal was about to begin to talk to her, but, then she asked about their son. “He's doing alright. From what I've seen he misses you. But, you'd probably know that yourself if you didn't keep yourself hidden from everyone here in town, especially him.” Neal said. He didn't normally talk to people in that direct a tone, but, this was about Henry, he was important and he needed his mother around more. But, Neal kept his gaze on her, and, shook his head. “But, let's not change the subject. Let's stay on topic as to why I brought you here. And, don't pretend that you don't know what it is. If anyone knows how the Dark One works, it's me. In case you want to pretend I'll say it now.” Neal paused and stepped closer. “What have you done with my father?”

Emma was glad that Henry was doing alright. It must be a big change for the boy, but it was a change for the better. With her being the Dark One now he only had to tell her what he wanted and she would make sure he would get it. She might have accepted the darkness but the love she carried inside herself for her family was still there, certainly for her own son. She would do anything for him, even though she did the most horrible thing a mother could do back at Camelot. She was being selfish and broke her son’s heart to get the one person she thought was able to help. Merlin. Then Neal had to give her the comment on hiding the whole time… a comment he wasn’t deserving to make. “Says the man who did exactly the same to me after he set me up for those watches and made me give birth while wearing handcuffs. You are not in a position to tell me what I can or cannot do Neal. Next time you decide to give such comments, make sure that you aren’t guilty of the same crimes. It really lowers the effect when you do.” Her tone was cold and leaning towards anger. Emma walked past the man who she once fell in love with while a grin spread on her face by the expected question coming out of the man’s mouth. “What do you mean Neal? By my knowing your father is having the time of his life at the moment while being surrounded in a world of dreams. Cause, he’s being stuck in a coma right? Or at least, he was when I last saw him.” Her grin lingered on her features when she turned on the balls of her feet and locked her eyes with Neal’s once more. Neal Cassidy

Neal knew better then anyone how it felt to have your parent become the Dark One. Especially when it was as sudden as both of their occasions had been. He was unsure what happened back in Camelot, because he hadn't been there. But, he knew that something must've happened pretty serious if Emma had taken this Dark One curse completely. Neal knew Emma better then she knew herself.
Neal rolled his eyes softly as she reminded him of what he'd done in the past. “I told you it wasn't me that set you up. And I'd been in hiding long before that. If you had told me about our son then I never would've stayed hidden. I never claimed I was innocent, but, I can still tell you what I think, especially when it concerns our son.” Neal said, glancing at Emma, anger on his face.
Looking at the once love of his life walking past him, Neal felt himself getting impatient and confused. “You know exactly what I'm talking about Emma. If he was there then why would I be here? I want nothing to do with the Dark One, and, yet I called you here. I know the lies of the Dark One better then anyone. And I know you too. Now tell me what I want to know Emma.” Neal glanced at Emma, not letting his real feelings show. All he wanted was his father back.

Neal knew what the Dark One could do to people, it had been two people that he loved so far. He knew that she had become it to save someone, just like his papa had. Neal felt the impact as Emma pushed him against the well, not focusing on that so much. “Look, I never put you in jail. I may have left, but, it wasn't me that put you in there. So what if I am? Even staying put for a while, only got me more pain. So, yeah, I left a lot.”
Feeling the spell loosen, Neal looked at Emma. “You're not sorry. If he wanted that, he would've stayed away in the first place. Yeah, I'm standing my ground, because it's helping someone that I care about.” Neal sighed softly as he felt the sting of Emma's words, but, he wasn't going to back down. “Look, I may fail at certain things, but, I will succeed in doing what I have to in order to protect my family. Which includes me coming here to get my father back.”
Now it was Neal's turn to take control. “Now, I know you have him.” Neal made his way closer to Emma, and, looked her in the eye. “I may have been afraid and ran away a lot once. But, I'm not that scared little boy anymore. And I'm not running anywhere. So, stop with the mind games, and, tell me the truth.”

“Do you really believe that it wasn’t your fault that I ended up in that jail? You might not be the one who truly closed the bars behind me but you were the one who set me up for those watches. Watches that I stole for you, for us.” Emma tried to keep her voice calm and under control while anger raged inside and fought right underneath the surface to show once more by the use of magic. Both her hands were fold together behind her back while Neal began his speech about wanting to protect his family and wanting to anything it took to accomplish it. “So now we are starting to get all sentimental about family are we? Even about your father? I’m disappointed. I would have hoped that you would just turn your back on him without even hesitating. What he did to you, all those years ago, was a typical act of a coward. What makes you think that saving him now would change his choices in the future? Do you really think that he would save you the next time he’ll have to?” A smirk spread on her face as she started to pace in front of Neal, avoiding his gaze that searched for hers. “Don’t worry Neal, your father is not going to suffer. He won’t even get injured. You have to trust me on this, on my words. Do you trust me, Neal?” She stopped pacing and gracefully placed one foot in front of the other, her eyes glued upon his. “Do you trust the one person that once trusted you?” Neal Cassidy
