Bae had been living with the Darlings, properly living with the Darlings for a couple of weeks now, and, he was glad that he finally had people to care about him. Really care about him the way his papa used to, before that Dark One dagger came into his possession. And a family he cared about just as much in return.
Not only did he have parents, both a mother and a father, but, he actually had siblings to be there for him as well. John, Michael and Wendy. His whole life he'd been an only child, and, so he was glad to have someone there to support him, and, keep him company. And also to pass his knowledge onto, since he was the older brother, which was a responsibility of his own.
While he still thought of his father alot more often then he admitted out loud, Bae was glad to have other people to keep him distracted from the thoughts of the past, and, allow him to focus on the future he was going to have in this world. While it didn't include his papa anymore, that shouldn't matter anymore. His papa hadn't wanted him, or thought about him, so he would do the same in this world.
Night had begun to fall, and, he and the rest of the Darlings knew that it would soon be time for bed. Bae had taken a shower, and, was sitting in the room that all 4 of them shared, when Michale and John surrounded Wendy waiting for a bedtime story. He knew that Wendy told great stories, but, he decided he may let her have a night off and he'll tell his own story.
Stories of the past life back in the Forest, which he was sure that these three siblings of his would think would just be made up. But, Bae just sat there and waited for Wendy's response, as he turned towards her and let out a soft smile before turning back towards John and Michael as well. "If Wendy doesn't want to tell a story tonight. I will happily take over, but, only if you're ok with that Wendy." Bae said, letting out a soft reassuring smile as he moved his gaze between all three of them, awaiting an answer.

Wendy got ready for bed worriedly. Her outer appearance seemed to be normal, but internally she was rummaging through her brain for a new bedtime story. What should she tell tonight? She had no ideas. She'd never run out of ideas before. Perhaps it's just an off night, she reassured herself. Wendy didn't want to keep telling John, Michael, and now Bae the same stories over and over, but she just couldn't think of one!
Sitting at the edge of her bed, dressed in her normal nightgown with her brothers and Bae sitting on the floor in front of her, Wendy was still trying to figure out what kind of story to tell. Most of the time, throughout the day she would create a story to retell to them that night, sometimes she would make it up as she went, but tonight she had no inspiration.
Wendy looked up when Bae began talking. Hearing that he was willing to tell the bedtime story, the dirty blonde felt as if a weight was taken off her shoulders. He gave her a subtle look that only they two noticed; he had seen her struggle. "Oh, of course, Bae!" she said, standing from the edge of her bed, going to sit on the floor. Sitting on the bed was the unspoken 'place' for the storytellers. Beside her brothers, Wendy watched Bae excitedly. She wondered what kind of tale he would tell.

Bae let out a soft smile as Wendy confirmed that he could tell the story, he knew that she would've. And he could tell that she appreciated him taking the pressure off of her. In his own way he could tell that Wendy was having trouble, which is why he offered to take over. He didn't want the boys to be disappointed for not getting their story.
He looked at Wendy as she took his spot on the floor, so he figured he should take the spot on the bed. Since that was generally where the people who told the story sat. So that they could see and direct it at everyone. Taking his place, Bae glanced down as he straightened up his dressing gown, before his hands landed on the necklace his father had given him all those years ago. As his hand rested on it for a minute, Bae's head filled with all the memories of that place, and, flashes of him and his father came into his head, both before and after he became the Dark One. He attempted to hide the emotions that came with these, as he came back into the present.
Letting out a soft sigh, Bae released the crystal and he placed his hands on his knees resting them on there as he glanced between the three Darling siblings who were all anxiously waiting for him to start his story. Glancing down once more he leant his body more forward as he finally started to speak “My story tonight is about a place filled with dragons and unicorns as well as wizards, both good and dark. It's about a place called the Enchanted Forest.” Bae figured he might as well tell a story of his homeland. No matter what memories it brought back.

Wendy and her brothers looked at each other excitedly when Bae gave them a summary of his story. They have all heard and read stories filled with fantastical places and creatures, but strangely enough they have never heard a story that had dragons, unicorns, and wizards all at the same time. That kind of story was too complicated for them to weave together and tell. He had told a few stories for them in the past, but they had been in the same lane of simplicity as their own. It would appear that Baelfire was hiding a secret from them: his skill of excellent storytelling.
'Dragons?' John asked excitedly, looking to Michael. 'Unicorns!' The youngest child cheered, giving a tight squeeze to his teddy bear. "And wizards in an Enchanted Forest! Oh, how wonderful, Bae!" Wendy finished. The Darlings eagerly awaited for him to begin his story, inching closer to the bed on their knees. "I wish we had Enchanted Forests in London." London was a giant city that crawled with many people, there wasn't enough room to have an entire enchanted forest.

Bae let a small smirk escape his face as the three Darlings looked at each other in excitement. He understood their excitement, mainly because he knew they hadn't had to live it, and, see their lives be ruined because of it. His stories before this had been minor, like just add-ons to Wendy's stories. But, he had decided to go all out this time. None of the Darlings had to know that these stories and this land was 100 percent real. It was better they just thought he was a creative storyteller. With a large imagination.
Chuckling softly, Bae nodded as the three Darling siblings comprehended what he had just told them. “Yeah, my story has all three of those things. As for whether it's wonderful, well that remains to be seen.” Bae said, pausing and seeing the memories in his head of that place. “I'm not sure if you'll still feel that way when I'm done telling my story.” Bae knew that Wendy may find it intriguing, but, he didn't want to be anywhere near that stuff anymore. “Now, shall I begin?”

"Oh, Bae, what could be so bad about dragons, unicorns, and wizards? They all sound marvelous!" Wendy asked in naivety, giving him a confused look. She was surprised by Michael climbing into her lap and putting his hand over her mouth, shushing her. John laughed at the look she gave him, but she understood. "Oh, alright, alright!" Baelfire was losing time with her talkativeness. The dirty blonde apologized through giggles and placed Michael back on the floor, remaining silent so her friend would begin his story.
"Please do start, Bae! We'll be quiet now." Wendy said, smiling. She flushed slightly, embarrassed to have kept him waiting. Her excitement to hear his story overwhelmed her. She hoped her parents wouldn't catch them in the middle of his story and tell them to go to bed just yet. Whenever that happened it was most disappointing.

BAELFIREtags @wendy;; etc ;; "It doesn't matter. But, mark my word. Not all of them are good." Bae said, sighing softly. The questions weren't really the point of this, and, if they didn't stop asking them then they'd never get the story in full before being told to go to bed. He chuckled softly as Michael placed his hand over Wendy's mouth, almost like he could see that too.
Bae let out a soft chuckle as Wendy focused her attention on getting Michael out of her lap and focusing on letting him tell the story. It was hard enough reliving his memories of that place, but, the interruptions weren't helping.
"Ok, that's better." Bae said, with a small smile as he winked at Michael as a way to thank him for helping. Bae nodded before smiling "Thank you. Now my story tonight is of a wizard known as the Dark One, otherwise known to mere mortals as Rumplestiltskin. This Dark One was the most feared and powerful sorcerers in the Enchanted Forest." template by Rach @ Delusional
