I'm Not a Boy Anymore Felix, and I sure as Hell Ain't Lost Night had fallen on Neverland once again, which allowed Neal and all of them time to rest, and maybe even sleep, since he knew from experience that exploring Neverland after dark was both pointless and alot more dangerous. His childhood was nothing, but, wandering the island during the day, and hiding from the Lost Boys and Pan's Shadow at night.
After gathering some firewood, Neal looked around and saw that everyone else had seemed to have walked off to do whatever they had to on the island. Letting out a soft sigh, he placed the firewood down before taking a seat on a log, not too far from the fire.
The quietness of the night finally made him have to think about what had happened to him before being sent back to the Forest. Tamara had been using him, pretending to care about and love him from that moment they met in New York.
And in the end, he had practically led her to the town full of magic that she was trying to get rid of, and more importantly to Henry, allowing her to have free and easy access to him, in order to kidnap his son and bring him to Pan.
Neal felt the anger building inside as he sat there staring into the flames of the fire. Noticing the flames going down, he went to step up and grabbed some more. "How could I be such an idiot?" Neal asked, shouting in frustration, as he threw it on the fire, not knowing that anyone had returned to their camping place, hearing him shout that out.

It was the shouting of Neal that made Emma widen her eyes and hurry herself back towards the center of their camp. She’d been searching for some fresh water while all the others were doing their part of the work. Emma was lucky to have found a water source not that far away but all of that luck seemed to have disappeared when she arrived back at the camp. Neal shouting, the fire almost out… “Well, not putting any wood onto the fire is not exactly something smart.” Emma said as she walked towards him, her hands filled with bottles of fresh water. “But that’s not why you were saying that is it?” She knelt down and placed the bottles onto the ground before turning her attention completely back onto Neal who seemed to be quite emotional. “It’s maybe not the most positive thing to say, but I’m glad that there is someone else than me who is feeling this frustrated…” she gave him a small smile. One that fade away the moment she looked into his eyes. “… you want to talk about it?” she hoped he would take this offer. An offer that took a lot for Emma to give at this moment. All of her energy went to the searching of her son and any extra worries were only complicating things right now. Neal Cassidy

I'm Not a Boy Anymore Felix, and I Sure as Hell Ain't Lost Letting out the anger inside him felt surprisingly good, despite how sad he still felt deep inside. This was just a small part of his frustration and sadness though, but, at this point, it was the main part to focus on, since it was the reason they were on this cursesed island. Even more anger was at himself, for letting Pan get Henry back in the first place. Neal looked around as he heard noise from someone stepping on twigs and leaves behind him.
Neal was surprised when he heard Emma's voice coming from behind him, letting out a soft sigh he shook his head. “Well, I'd only just gotten back with it, before it started to go out.” Neal said, looking at Emma, as she continued to talk and Neal shook his head as she asked that question and lowered the water. At her words, he smiled softly, the emotion still obvious on his face “Well, you're right. It's not exactly a positive thing. But, I am glad to know I can make you feel like that.” Neal said, before looking away into the flames of the fire, and then turning back to Emma. “I guess if anyone will be able to understand it, you would.” Neal then took a seat by the fire and leant his chin against his hands. “It's just everything that happened with Tamara by the end. It was all fake and I actually fell for it.”

“Oh…” Emma said as she didn’t expect the subject to be Tamara. Maybe it was naïve to think that it wouldn’t be. After all that woman had caused a lot of horrible things. Her and Greg were the reason why Henry and them were on this bloody island. “She was just very skilled at lying Neal. She knew perfectly well how to make you believe all her lies. Those kind of people are trained for those kind of things.” Emma took a seat at the tree log that was centered at their camp. It at least gave you the chance to sit on something that didn’t seem to make your pants go soggy. Her upper body got supported by her elbows that were placed onto her upper legs while her eyes kept themselves onto Neal. “You can’t blame yourself for believing in her Neal… I mean, she was pretty good at that lying… it even took me a while to be completely certain that there was something not right about her.”Emma hoped that if she would show Neal the doubts she had in Tamara only in a later stage after their meeting, he would start to feel a bit better. Mostly her spider senses were up quite quickly when things weren’t right. With Tamara that wasn’t the case until she showed up in Storybrooke. Neal Cassidy

I'm Not a Boy Anymore Felix and I Sure as Hell Ain't Lost Hearing Emma's reaction, his gaze turned towards her. Neal knew that it probably wasn't what she wanted to hear while they were trying to get back their son, but, it was because of Tamara that they were on this island. All because he was stupid enough to fall for her lies, and bring her to Storybrooke with him.
"I just feel like I should've picked it at some point. I've dealt with people using me, and lying so perfectly well before. I just let her get past my walls, and fully suck me in" Neal said, leaning his elbows on his legs as he watched Emma go to sit down. These logs were the only real 'seats' this island had to offer, well, without your butts getting soaked or risk of something biting you or affecting you, Neal smiled softly as he saw Emma look back to face him.
"But, that's just it. I do, if I hadn't let myself be sucked in by her lies, then she wouldn't have gotten Henry and we wouldn't be on this stupid island. And after Hook, I should've known whether it was legit or not. Yeah, and I didn't believe you, even though you tried to tell me." Neal said, sighing sadly. The first person who'd tricked and used him had been Hook, and now Tamara as well. Both of those resulted in him ending up in the same place. Here on Neverland. But, at least this time, he knew how to survive on it. Neal knew that, this was probably how Emma was left feeling after he let her go to jail, so why she was trying to help him was beyond him.

“She only got passed your walls because you were blinded by love Neal. That’s the only reason. I’m sure that you probably have thought about my opinion about her when I told you that something was off with Tamara. But you know… at that point I was sounding as the jealous ex…”At least that’s what most of the people thought she was. Jealous… jealous about Tamara being together with Neal. People didn’t only thought like that, they also said it. Her mother for example.. “Look Neal, it’s not going to bring us any further if you keep thinking of possible what if’s. Tamara didn’t only trick you but me as well. Just like she tricked everyone else that loves Henry. We can’t turn back the time and redo things. Maybe it’s better that you just stop thinking about what she did and think about how we can get Henry back from Pan.” Emma recognized the look Neal had in his eyes when he was telling about his regrets of Tamara. It was the same look she had in her eyes when she thought about Neal while she was in jail with a growing belly. But regrets didn’t bring you anywhere. You had to fight against it and put them somewhere behind, move on and hope that there wouldn’t be moments you thought about them once more. Neal Cassidy

I'm Not a Boy Anymore Felix, and I Sure as Hell Ain't Lost “Deep down, I had my suspicions about you being right. But, I wanted to believe that for once there was one person out there who was telling me the truth, and cared about me for me. I never quite thought you were a 'jealous ex' so to speak.” Neal said, turning to face Emma. Neal knew that everyone thought there was still something between he and Emma, even Tamara had. But, there definitely wasn't. Yes, he'd always had feelings for her, but, he had been committed to her. Even if she hadn't felt the same.
“You're right focusing on the 'what-if's have never served me well in the past. Tricking and falling for lies something I knew well. I'm sorry you guys had to get involved. I'm sure things'll work out, we'll get him back.” Neal said, sighing softly. Neal hadn't had this feeling in so long. Not since he was first sent through that portal all those years ago. The feeling of not being cared about or wanted. Neal had thought he'd finally gotten over it, and could finally fix that feeling. “I just don't see why you of all people are trying to help me. This is the exact situation I had put you in all those years ago right?”

Emma hold in her breath for a moment when Neal mentioned on going through the same situation as he put her in a lot of years ago. “Because you are still the father of Henry. You’ve done a lot of things that made hurt me Neal, but I just found a way to live with all that because I know how much you mean to Henry. You are his father and I want him to be able to see that you are still alive and being able to be there for him.” A sigh followed after she’d spoken, pushing herself back up onto her feet. “We’re going to get Henry back and once we do I’m sure you’ll be feeling way better and less wanting to think about what Tamara did to you. Cause that’s the point about all the bad things that happen Neal. They all want you to learn something, to become a stronger person and to know what to do when it would happen again.” Emma started walking towards one of the tents, picking up an empty bag. “So show this island what you have learned from all this and use it.” Emma’s voice sound rather determined and strict, but it seemed to be the only way to make Neal see that there wasn’t any time for self regret, not while their son was getting kidnapped by Pan. I'm Not a Boy Anymore Felix, and I Sure as Hell Ain't Lost Neal looked at Emma as she told him why she was trying to help him. He knew it was true, Neal had hurt her so much, but, he had to be there for Henry. "Yeah, I am his father. And he means as much to me as I obviously do to him." Neal knew that they had only been together about a month before Tamara snatched him, but, he felt like a father in so many ways, even if it hasn't been long enough. "Yeah, we'll get him back. I used to only think of Tamara, but, that's changing now. I will focus on my son. Well, it's not the first time I've had to go through something like that. It worked then, will it work now. I'm sure I could get there in time" Neal let out a soft sigh before standing up and stretching his legs. "You're right. I beat Pan and got off this island once, I will do it again. But, this time I'm leaving no-one behind." Neal said, determined to make this true. More then anything else in the past. He was glad that Emma was trying to bring him out of the depression of the aftermath of someone else hurting or betraying him. It was easier this time, since he had a purpose for coming out of it this time. To save his son.
