Before the curse is broken and right before the pilot
Regina sat in her car, she didn't want to do this in fact .She pulled out her cell phone getting ready to call the cricket and tell him it would just be Henry. She slammed her head against the steering wheel. If the Mayor did that her son would become even more distant.
Regina sighed opening the door "fine." She whispered getting out staring at the building sneering and wrapping her coat around herself tight "For Henry." She did a slow amble to the door . Breath , just breath you will be fine , she open the office door and stepped into the waiting room."Sorry I'm late."

Regina frowned when Henry looked at her with those sad puppy eyes he hated her right now because he didn't want to be there. Well that makes two of us she thought , the mayor walked in to the office and sat down next to him. "How was school Sweet pea?" The question was just an ice breaker to see if he would even break from the silent treat he had been giving her for the past week.
"I got a called from Miss Blanchard saying someone was trying to pick a fight with you, are you all right?" The teacher already gave her the students name she would find him and make his family pay. Regina brushed back some hair off his face smiling at the way Henry swatted at her hand."You will never be to old for me to mother you."

"I see the silent treatment is still going." Regina sighed then she stared at Archie ,"Well aren't you going to tell him that his little idea of of everyone here is fairytale characters." The mayor rolled her dropping her purse on the table on course he wouldn't no that's morally wrong.
"Well , what are we here for if you are just going to write on blasted note pad!" She yelled her frustration at the man, she wasn't mad at him. No she angry at the situation she wanted to say to Henry yes your right, I'm sorry but your mother is The Evil Queen. Grabbing her forehead this has to be the nomination for worst mother of the year award. Not only did now have to keep everyone believing that their some small town hicks, now she had to convince her son he was crazy.
"All this start when his teacher ,Miss Blanchard gave him that blasted book!" Regina crossed her and huffed"I'm this close to going to the Principal and demanding Henry to be switch from her class then get her fired!"

Regina froze when Henry called her the Evil Queen, "Sweet Heart we have talked about that you are not allowed to call me that expression." The twitching in her eyes returned everytime the phrase left his mouth. Her so knew what buttons of hers to push, because his tone was so disdainful when mutter those words. The Mayor rubbed her brow sighng ,this nonsense has to end.
"As far as whether I decide to take you out of that womans class is not uo to you Henry." Regina crossed her legs and began to shake the top legs."I'm your mother and I know best for you. Miss Blanchard needs to remember her place." The brunette refused to look at the boy, because he was her undoing. Normally she would just give him whatever he wanted, but this time it was coming so close to the twenty eight year mark, she couldn't risk it, the Queen had to destory Henry belief in that book.

"Henry !" Regina sat in shock she stared at the cricket."Why didn't you say anything, what hell do I pay you for?" The Mayor bolted up and out the door. She sighed looking down both sides of the walk way."Henry!"
Out of the corner of her eye she spotted his backpack going around the corner of Mr.Gold's pawn shop."Sweet heart, stop right there!" Regina yelled as she ran after her son,"Henry wait baby please we need to talk!" Her heels click against the cement of sidewalk as she ran toward him. When the Queen made it around the shop she huff "Henry Edward Mills do not move one more step is that clear."

Regina ran up to Henry "Young man , you can't run away when you don't get your way." The Mayor looked around to see if anyone had seen the fiasco. She knelt down next to him"Sweet heart, (she made her voice go as calm as possible.)let's go back to Dr. Hopper office." The brunette held her hand out to him.
"Listen Henry I know your angry at me, but do embarrass me here you can do that all you in the Doctor office all you want but not out in the open." Regina didn't want to drag him back to the office but that's how it was starting to look like it was going in that direction. "Henry, don't make do something we will both regret."

"So you would rather stay out in the cold then be in a nice warm office?" Regina asked sweetly trying to get Henry to understand there was nothing to gain from this. "Sweet heart, your going to catch a cold." When her son crossed his arms , she gave him a tight lipped smile. The Mayor stood up from kneeling on the ground"You will march yourself back to Dr. Hopper's office ,(she pause swallowing the lump that start to form. She never had to punish him before.) Or I spank you then drag you back there. Tye choice is yours."

Regina had to hold back the tears that were threatening to follow, she turned her head not wanting Henry to see her at a weak point."Go young man, at this moment I'm so angry at you." The look of defeat and utter helpless that was written all over her son's face reminded her of all times with her own mother.
The Mayor wrapped her arms around her midsection, she began to walk back to the office . She didn't turn to see if he would follow , in her heart she knew Henry would soon enough follow. Regina hated herself right now, because she became the one person she never wanted to be her mother Cora.

Regina kept walking but when Henry took a hold of her hand a small shocked smile swept over her face. She could never be mad at him for long. He was her son ,she would always forgive him. "I'm sorry, I wish we could go back to the way it used to be. When you loved me and that was enough for you. " Regina didn't look down just straight ahead, a wave of nausea pass over her. She placed a comforting hand on stomach.
"For you and only you Henry I would move the world around, I hope you know that." She meant it he had finally filled the hole in her heart that had been empty for so long. Regina squeezed her eyes shut trying to hold back the tears forming in her eyes. When they reached the doors she held it widely for him to step through and then herself. "Let's try this please."

Regina sat back down on the couch, proud for at the moment Henry was going to go with this idea, but when she looked over he was still so withdrawn it broke her heart. The Mayor wrapped a protecting arm around his tiny shoulders, if she could she would keep him like this forever. In her heart she knew Henry would keep growing till one day he would notice that this wasn't right.
The coo-coo clock chime on the wall bringing Regina out of her mind and back to reality. She sighed softly Marco and his damn wood work. The problem was the curse was getting weaker with each day her castle of sand could start crumble, if the savior came to town
