Artemis carried herself expertly over fallen twigs and broken branches, barely making any noise apart from her steady breathing. She gripped the silver bow firmly between her hands and held the arrow notched in place, her eyes silently scanned the busy forest until they landed on the very animal she'd been tracking for hours. She'd left Olympus in haste missing the breeze that carried the forest smell and the dirt beneath her feet, she missed the place she belonged in and thus excused herself for a hunt. She'd found the wild boar's resting place beside a busy stream with lots' of vegetation and tracked his busy path up the hill and into the thick treed of the forest. There he was resting once more on the soft leaves of a fern with his snout atop a rock, it was the perfect moment. No breeze to alter her arrow's way and no sound to alert the animal to her presence. She watched him closely, finding peace in the soft songs of the birds and the smell of earthly forest, this was where she needed to be, where she thrived to be. She lifted the bow, straightened her shoulders and took a breath of fresh air. Her eyes trained for the perfect shot and her hands held steady the deadly weapon but it was short lived. A very obvious presence spooked the animal and a familiar voice startled her so the arrow lodged only in the animal's back leg. A poor shot for the goddess of the hunt. She huffed annoyed and turned around with a stern glare. "Dionysus/Dio Theoinos" she greeted thin lipped "to what do I owe the pleasure" though sarcasm was thick in her tone "you ruined my hunt brother" and memory flashed back to a similar conversation she once had with Ares, when he wasn't as obsessed about following father's orders.

Dionysus flashed in next to Artemis draping an arm over her slender shoulders. Grinning ear to ear a flower crown laid lopsided on his head . or did I save Miss piggy ? Aww the never ending chicken or the egg debate laughing heartily in a good nature manner . untangling himself moving away heading to a fallen tree hoping up pulling the skirt of his toga down. Dionysus looked about wondering what h charm of this was so this is what you do all day? How is this fun? There are no people , no wine , no laughter ...sister we must take to the people allow them to laugh with you. Doing bring the bow...that might be a party downer though. summoning his golden decanter filled with the wine of the gods. Titling it back chugging the grape beverage. Smacking his lips once he was done burping in playful jest. you know you wanna Artie come on waving the jar at her wine sloughing over the edges. give the wild life a break come play with me I'll make sure you will smile and laugh.. falling backwards in his drunken state chuckling as he fell back .

"You only prolonged her life brother, I assure you it shall end" she glared at him as he moved about walking forward to trace the path the boar had taken to get away from danger. However, his annoying voice hadn't let her yet and she feared it would not soon, she turned to face him with an instant glare.
"Yes Dionysus, this is what I do all day. Perhaps you should leave me be and do whatever pleases you all day" but he didn't stop talking and instead summoned his decanter, as predictable as always. Aphrodite lifted her bow and arrow and let it fly, it instantly knocked the decanter from his grip and she stood there tall and proud.
"You took my boar I'll take your wine" she threatened but as much as she wanted to strangle him she did enjoy his company albeit under different circumstances "I'm sorry" she apologized lifting her palm summoning the decanted back towards him where it lay discarded on the forest floor "I should not have touched the divine wine of yours" she was being genuine, if there was one thing to set her brother over the edge it was just that. She could always find the pig again. And she did just that, she crouched down low to feel the soil and observe the trail of broken twigs and messy tracks.
"This is where I smile and laugh brother" she argued "if I get my trophy, the one you lost. If you want to play you'll have to play on my terms" a broad smirk grew on her lips "or be left alone here, your choice" she told him venturing deeper into the trees to find the injured boar. She could hear his footsteps behind her but her concentration was focused on the task at hand.

Laughing heartily peaking over the log an brow arched high a mischievous grin spread over his plump lips. its all good nature ribbing Artie . drinking heavily from he decanter some of the wine rolled out the corners of his mouth . burping laughing once more are we playing a game ? I do enjoy games sister what shall we play then? not realizing she meant about the hunt .
sister must you kill the pig? What would happen if allowed it to live? I just see a creature that didn't expect this to happen isn't it you who says life in all forms are precious. climbing over the log as h spoke . not spilling one drop of wine. ta da now that's talent hiccupping a playful smile on his lips.
But once the idle threat of being left alone Dionysus face somber to the point of bleakness. Artemis I just found you would you leave me just as quick? I know boisterous and loud..all I desire is for making you happy I didn't mean to cause discontentment . I have just notice the riffed going amongst the Parthenon. I miss peace at the kingdom.. bowing his head a soft warm breeze brushed over him . chestnut colored hair ruffled in the wind . I miss all of us being able to be together Artie I miss the family we once had don't you ?

"By the gods Dionysus has the wine tainted your mind so early" she chuckled slipping a palm onto his shoulder "we're hunting brother, that's the game" however unimpressed he was with her idea of a game she felt pride in what she did and their bickering only brought a smile to her lips. She slipped over the log with ease, the bow still gripped tightly in her other hand.
"I also recall telling you that if your talents are not practiced they ultimately give way to weakness" she rolled her eyes softly standing still to watch him attempt to reach her over the massive log "I admit, having such a dedicated love to something as dull as wine is a true talent" she joked lightly continuing with her track of the animal "besides the pig is wounded, leaving it as such is only torture. I need to relieve it's pain and the only way to do so is to take it's life" this was true, she'd often curse people who did such horrible deeds. Once an animal is wounded by your hands it is your responsibility to either nurse it back to health or relieve it's misery.
"Brother" she looked towards him sadly "I shall not leave you, I was merely urging you to follow after me. I know home isn't what it used to be" she admitted the bow lazily hanging by her fingertips "I miss our family too" her eyes fell to the floor counting the small flowers blooming out of the moist soil by the base of the log "but father has left us all broken and tired and angry, that is why I get lost within the hunt. It is the only place I truly feel at peace. Accompany me to finish my kill and I'll show you something magnificent" she told him softly trying best she can to make her brother smile, she did care for him after all and family needed to be preserved.

Following behind Artemis a thin frown scolwingover his handsome features. The wine didn't ruin his mind in the long run it was the one thing to make the god happy in this bitter time . moving to stand behind the goddess peaking over the slender slope of Artie's shoulders. The boar was in fact injured lowering his eyes to the sandled covered feet . the creature made him think back to Ares..in way Ares suffered because of father cruelty but ending their brothers plight wasn't as easy as ending the man's life. No it had to start with Zeus ..
sister I have a question one that I need you to think deeply about I need a answer that may be difficult to say. Sipping on he decanter once more becoming embolden by the liquid it lit a fire within his veins. what if you could stop an infliction ? What if by killing one you could save millions? Would could you do it?
Murder was wrong but then again so was what Zeus was doing. Keeping them prisoners of their own fears molding a few of them into monsters. How long till they all were so uncaring an unloving? What would happen to the humans , wild life? Gazing waiting to hear the wise words of Artemis . if there was anyone who he listen to more it was her .

Artemis held her breath as she lifted the bow to aim, the boar had fallen tired beneath a thick bush and as the air slipped past her lips the arrow met it's mark. Not a single moment of suffering added, but rather peace given at a time needed. She stood up smiling at her accomplishment but stopped dead in her tracks as she listened to her brother speak, however fun and joyous Dionysus could be he could be equally passionate and emotional. He sparked a train of thoughts to echo through her mind, could a lesser evil be for the greater good? She turned to face him wide eyed and lips agape. Of course she would want to, if you could save a village by killing a single tyrant it'd be worth it. But to inflict murder because you had no other options was not right. Artemis was raised kind and caring, cold and harsh but kind towards those she cared for.
If Apollo was here he'd argue saying you should not take a life to save thousands more, it would only hasten the course of fate. If ever he were wise it was hidden beneath his childish exterior. She slipped her palm over his shoulder and met his gaze "brother, I wish I could say what you want to hear but you cannot change the fates design. I would want to of course, a million lives for one, no doubt it's worth it" a slight pause followed before she dared speak again "Dionysus, do not do something foolish. Why ask me this question, is there something you wish to talk about"
for the first time in a long while she hadn't the words to speak, she had an awful feeling inside her chest that made her want to take her brother far away from there. Something told her that he wanted to do something foolish that would alter his future in a large manner.

❝when I've loved someone ❞ Dionysus looked away hiding his real feelings. The sympathetic words coming Artemis did not help the ache that had taken hold of soul. Lifting his head up so it roll back staring at the clouds. Knowing his sister would never betray him ,Dio could tell the goddess of what his intentions were . yet he won't for if caught and those who knew would be punished for the crime . Sadly smiling resting a gentle hand on Artemis sloping shoulder . fear not Artie its just drunken talk from fool. No need to worry tonight their abuser would laid to rest and they all would be free. Dionysus wanted to spend time with each of his siblings. He spent the morning with Ares an Dity the happy couple joking laughing but the signs of bleakness were starting to peak behind the usually playful mischievous gaze of war god. your always so worried for me ...I must be problem like father says . promise me something if I were to ever vanish don't believe what Zeus says about me . no matter what it will not be the truth. if any of them could withstand the bitterness that the king springs forth toward them it Artie . the goddess lived above the ignorance that the older ones tried to force feed them. ❝ its with all my being ❞ Artemis | word # | something Dionysus

She watched her brother closely, she saw the sadness that gripped his soul and felt her own sadness rise. He was always the most carefree of the gods, truly admiring the gift of life and there he was planning to do something rash and worry hung heavy on her shoulders. They already lost so much with father's cruel actions, they could not start losing each other now. If ever they were apart the gods would lose the strength they had together and they would be hunted by Zeus relentlessly killed.
"Dionysus" she scolded instantly holding his shoulders gently shaking him to meet her gaze "you are not a problem, father speaks cruel words that carry no truth. I worry for you because you are my brother and I love you, I do not care what father says. You are a blessing Dio not a curse, not a problem and certainly not a drunken fool" her eyes softened looking at him
"Please do not do something if it means we lose you, we can find another way" she already had a gnawing suspicion of what he planned to do and it scared her, she could not lose her brother "together we can find another way, Please Dionysus do not do this" she begged but she saw the determination in his eyes and stepped back looking at him with a sad smile.
"I shall not believe a word he speaks about you" she promised but the worry and sadness she felt left the trees drooping and swaying to the rhythm of her heart beat, her affinity for nature sometimes took over but it felt oddly poetic as the trees mourned this risky decision Dionysus had already made "I never have before" she added with a gentle smile.
