The finale touches of the baby's room were about done. Snow rubbed her hands over her swollen stomach. hanging a sheep mobile over the crib the princess smiled at the tiny fixture that Granny had picked. The older woman was more like a grandmother to her then friend , a waiting for Red and Regina to come back from this top secret adventure of theirs. missing her dear friend more so now, after the event with the wicked witch freezing Regina and charming but also her self. Had made the pregnant mother to be increasingly on edge. Moving over to the book case picking up the stuffed wolf and sheep out of the box and placing it on to the shelf together. this baby wouldn't fall into that Wicked witches grip to many people were willing to fight for it already. so much love for life that hasn't even been born yet. the whoosh of the massive oak doors to the nursery open revealing Red strolling through. Red! the princess exclaim with jovial glee. waddling over to her friend . hands pressed firmly into the small of her back a mischievous playful grin spread over her berry stained lips. so did your adventure go well? you and regina were not gone for very long what a day tops? something about the expression on Red's face made Snow give into her worry more. reaching out taking a hold of the statuesque brunette are you alright Red Riding Hood/Ruby Lucas you seem troubled

Red calmly strode into the nursery of the Dark Palace, following the scent of Snow, and oh, how different it looked from the one she had helped Snow decorate for Emma all those years ago, before Regina enacted the first Dark Curse, clutching a leather bound journal belonging to the late King Leopold in her arms. And she wasn't alone, a young girl with wild, wide eyes and wilder hair, followed her into the room, looking around fearfully. This was Adalyn, a member of her mother's pack. "Really, Snow, i think the pregnancy is melting your brain. You weren't ever this bad at keeping track of time, not even when you were pregnant with Emma, my friend. We were actually gone for more than a day, Snow. It took at least that long just to make our way to the Wolves' Den." She joked, laughingly then she turned to her young shadow, and spoke, her voice ringing with a power that she was still uncomfortable using, "Adalyn, go guard the doors, make sure the Princess and I are not disturbed by anyone, not even the Prince or the Queen." Adalyn nodded, clearly nervous around so many humans, "Yes, Alpha," and turned to go, but Red's hand on her arm stopped her in her tracks. "What did I tell the pack, Adalyn?" "That it's 'Red', not 'Alpha', Red." She nodded, "Good. That's right, Adalyn. Remember I am not my mother. I will never be my mother. I may be Alpha now, but I will not be Alpha as Anita was Alpha, nor as Adair was Alpha. Tell the others that at the evening meal, will you?" Her hand lifted from the girl's arm and she watched her leave. Then she turned to Snow. "Snow, I'm fine, everything went well. Regina and I even learnt a little more about each other. And we started to get along properly too. I'm not saying she's my new best friend, but we're friendly now at least." Then she drew in a shaky breath, steeling herself for what she was about to tell her best friend and sister in, as far as the other woman knew, all but blood, about her (their) father. The truth was sure to break Snow's heart into pieces, she'd adored her (their) father, and yet, the fairest one deserved the truth and the wolf woman was not about to keep it from her any longer. "I was looking in the library for anything that could help us defeat the Witch before Regina and I left and well, I found this, and took it with me, to read at night before sleeping," she thrust the book she carried out towards Snow, "It's a journal kept by your father. In it he writes about a woman not your mother, a woman he met and had, well, an affair with. A woman by the name of Anita with wild eyes and a wilder heart. Your father wrote about my mother, Snow. He knew my mother, intimately, I mean. I'm sorry, Snow, so sorry." She was nervous and unsure whether her best friend would understand what she was trying to say without coming right out and saying it right off the bat. "Gods, this is so awkward, Snow White/Mary Margaret I'm so sorry." ((OOC: And this is late, and I am very, very, very sorry. ))

The younger man following Red was new, Snow quirked a grin at the alpha line . Not able to hide her amusement over that . hands cupped under her swollen stomach Alpha trying out new nicknames Red? And has it been several days? knowing that Charming has been trying to keep her busy since they left had her nap been longer then what she had desired? don you think that's a bit much ? Stopping Charming or Regina? asking a bit confused by that. Shaking her head to break free of her thoughts that tried to entrap the pregnant woman in doubt. Locking eyes with the one woman she had always been able to count on. The relief of the trip was that Red and Regina were able to find a way to get along. friendly is good friendly is start smiling but that wouldn't last for long. The journal being held out to her an the small but quick summary of what was in the book.
what? Surely you jest Red my father was faithful to my mother grabbing the book flipping through the page what number is this news on but she didn't have to have it she had found the page. Legs began to feel like jello as she read the passage not once but four different times. Unsteadily Snow walked to the to the rocking chair sitting down daze by this revelation. Tears springing to her eyes the princess entire life had sprung around one truth that her father and mother loved one another...now snow wasn't so sure. so we are sisters more then when we had thought. dropping the book to her lap, it was mix of happiness and sadness that swirled about within her heart.

“Alpha trying out new nicknames Red? And has it been several days?”
Red laughed, "New nicknames? No, Snow, do you remember my mother's pack of wolves? Well, they're mine to lead now. I won that right." And here she rolled up a sleeve to show the scars that were already beginning to fade from the bright noticeable pink they had been even the day before to a lighter shade that was almost nearly white, "I am their leader now, their Alpha. As my mother was before me, and Adair after her. It took some doing for them to accept me, but I eventually managed to win them over. And so, I lead them now. They are here to protect you from the Witch, as an added measure of security. It was actually Regina's idea, to tell you the truth. I wouldn't have thought of it in a hundred years. And though they're my pack now, you, Charming Granny, the dwarves, Emma and Henry, and even Regina, you guys are my true Pack with a capital "p". And yes, it has been several days. Really, Snow, you must be tired or sleeping too much to have lost such complete track of the time. Has Charming been keeping you resting too much? You should be moving around, and staying awake and healthy. Sleeping too much is counterproductive. I'd've thought he knew that, but maybe not.." she laughed, the shepherd turned Prince was a little silly sometimes, but she did rather like him, as a friend and member of her Pack. She would do anything for Snow, Charming, Emma, Henry, Granny or the Dwarves, and even Regina, although she was still working on being friends with the former Evil Queen. It would take time before she was truly comfortable considering Regina a friend.
“Don't you think that's a bit much? Stopping Charming or Regina?”
"No, actually, I don't, because this is personal, and they can wait to hear it until you're ready to share the information with others. It's private, and they really don't need to see you break apart over this. Charming will just lecture me about endangering the baby, and Regina would probably agree with him, actually. So no, stopping them isn't a bit much, Snow." She said, calmly and gently. She needed to be calm, Snow would be falling apart more then enough for more of them in short order, of that Red had no doubt.
"Friendly is good. friendly is start." Red nodded. "It is, it really is." Regina wasn't at all the monster Red had thought her to be once upon a time. Or at least she wasn't now. Back in the darker days of Snow's bandit life, she had been, but during those days, Red had had her own problems so she really shouldn't be judging anyone based on the past.
“what? Surely you jest Red my father was faithful to my mother.” "Surely you know I would never joke about this. Snow, least of all to you. I wish he had been, for your sake. I know how much you adored King Leopold, gods rest his soul." Red was careful not to call him 'father' just yet. It still didn't quite feel real to her. It didn't feel right yet. And to Snow, who'd believed her whole life in the True Love love story of King Leopold and Queen Eva, this was a huge bitter blow.
Red did not fight when Snow took the book from her, and asked “what number is this news on?” "They're not numbered, exactly, but I've marked the place, Snow," and she had, with a couple braided torn pieces of her skirt. "So we are sisters more then when we had thought.”
"I'm sorry, Snow, that you had to find out this way," she said, kneeling on the floor in front of her sister. "Well, it does explains why I always felt so comfortable around you. Even back during your bandit days."

numb Snow felt numb , what should have been a happy joyous news only made her feel cold . Not about Red but because this was another veil being ripped from her eyes about her father. As children we desire to see our parents as hero's fighters of injustice. protector of the weak...but who protects the weak from them ? Recently Regina had told Snow about the abusive relationship the Queen had Leopold. Now this ? when would the new stop ? how much more could she take before the Shadows of good old honorable King Leopold vanished and the true image of the twisted person emerged ?
This was a dramatic change in a person's life, but its wasn't only her life now was it ? this also effected Red as well . That was part of shock and disbelief comes in and you can't conceptualize it at first. Reaching out a trembling hand a olive branch of sorts no longer just friends but sisters. Snow took a hold of the woman's shoulder who knelt before her. Emerald colored eyes searched in to the clear blue green ones of Red's wanting to see a part of her father deeply embedded within. A spark a of reorganization that being her blood would be able to see.
gazing deeply Snow saw something that made her smile , it was same kindness that her father the good king had always radiated when he talked to her. this only made the pregnant princess curl forward and cry on Red's shoulder. resting her face against the hand that rested there . Not crying for the loss of perfect image of Leopold but because she was robbed of ever having family she always wanted as child. Knowing full and well that had Red been there when they both were children then life would have been dramatically different.
