[INSIDE]
who you really are...
Personality: When people first meet Roland, it's very clear that he's really very shy towards other people. He just takes some time to get use to people and then he's kind of a chatterbox. Honestly, he's adorable or so everyone that has met him has said. He loves being around his dad and enjoys being outside rather than stuck indoors. He's a bit of an introvert and doesn't really take to being the center of the attention unless it's by someone he's close to. That being said, Roland does have his anxious moments, particularly when it comes to being without his Daddy. The one that's raised him all his young life so that's caused him a bit of grief and has caused some crying fits over that. Yet, he really likes chocolate anything even if his father won't really allow it. Either that or tell him a good story involving ships and maybe he'll be alright. He's not much of a trouble-maker, but he does sometimes wander a little farther than he should, causing mild heart attacks in those caring for him. He's a caring sort of boy and doesn't like seeing anyone sad, often giving them a hug or maybe even a crudely drawn picture. He tends to find drawing an easier way of expressing his emotions rather than talking. He likes puddles and playing in the dirt even if he has to take a bath which isn't much fun. Then again neither are naps, and he will possibly fight you on it until he passes out anyways. Really, he's just adorable and sweet, caring, loyal to those he's close to and smart for a five year old.
Likes: stories, boats/ships, apple flavoured anything, playing pretend, his father
Dislikes: broccoli, getting in trouble, spiders, being cold, scary movies
Strengths:creative, caring, understanding
Weaknesses: the dark, separation anxiety, animals
History: Roland was a fairly happy little boy being raised by his father and his group of men. His mother passed away not long after he was born, unable to be saved from death's door. Still, he barely seemed to notice that he was missing a parent, though he did find it hard when his Daddy wasn't there. Sure, he liked the band of merry man, but well they just weren't his father. Even as a little boy he was destined to be daddy's little boy. He was a good boy, for the most part, that tried very hard to stay out of trouble and do as he was told except when it came to certain things. After all, he wasn't born to be the perfect child and he definitely caused a few troubles here and there when he was able to walk around on his own. Yet, he was always rather shy and wasn't exactly fond of strangers, but his daddy didn't seem to mind too much. It was better than him jumping into the arms of any stranger that could potentially hurt the dear little boy. He was about four though when he finally learned how not so normal it was for little boys to have only one parent. As it was, he managed to sneak away and find some other kids in a small village not far from the camp.
They got to playing around when the subject of parents came up between some of the kids. Roland was a bit surprised when most of the kids said they had two of them. Were all kids suppose to have two parents? Rather confusing for a little boy of four who ended up being scolded by his daddy for causing him worry. Of course, he asked his Daddy why he didn't have a Mummy, but his father ended up starting to cry and Roland didn't bother asking again. He didn't want to make his Daddy said like that and mostly stuck to the camp or the horses enjoying the giant creatures. Well....giant compared to a little four-year-old at least. It was also around that time that he got his first taste of the supernatural world. Which resulted after finding his Daddy in a strange old castle talking to a few people. They got talking while Roland busied himself exploring the room until he was told to do something for his father which he nodded. He didn't really want to disappoint his father so he did what his Daddy asked him to do as his father got him ready for bed that night.
A night which proved terrifying for the young boy when a shadowy figure appeared out of nowhere and tried to grab him. Luckily Mulan and his Daddy showed up just in time while the other man was whisked away. Later on, Roland and his father join a group of people that seemed rather strange to the young boy. Being shy and a little nervous he stayed close to his Dad while they all seemed to travel together for a bit. At least until a strange creature came out of nowhere nearly grabbing at Roland once more only to be protected by someone else. He was a bit worried at first until the strange creature was turned into a stuffed animal and then given to him, making sure to say thank you like he was taught to do. He was then brought back over to Storybrooke along his father and his friends with little memory of his past life in the woods. Only knowing that he was safe with his daddy and his group, still just as attached and shy as ever.
