History:Son to a poor man and his wife, Lancelot was born a sickly child, falling prey to some illness or another easily. Out of desperation and hunger, he was left abandoned in the woods by his parents only to be found later by the Lady of the Lake, who helped nurse him through the use of the enchanted lake. Upon coming of age, he left his home and found work as a knight to King George, working under Prince James for a time, becoming close friends. Like James, he was arrogant, cocky, and at times this caused him to be reckless during his first few years.
Growing older, however, he decided he wanted to see more of the world and left the kingdom, later earning a spot at the Round Table under King Arthur of Camelot. It was here that Lancelot grew and matured, striving to become an ideal knight of the Round Table and to prove himself worthy of serving under King Arthur.
While he proved to be the ideal Camelot knight, upholding all of the goals and ideals the kingdom was founded on, he found himself falling for Guinevere, and soon engaged in a love affair despite her engagement to King Arthur. The king discovered the two lovers, and Lance quickly fled Camelot and went into hiding. However, upon finding out Gwen was to be killed for their crimes he attempted to sneak back in and save her from execution. Arriving too late to save his true love, he grew devastated, and left Camelot for good, beginning a life as a hero-for-hire.
Some years later, he returned to work under King George during the war against Charming and Snow, believing David had attempted to usurp his late friend’s place. However once George cursed Snow to keep her from ever bearing a child, he quickly left his kingdom once more. Unable to help a man who would deny two lovers the right to a family, something Lancelot himself had always wanted and was denied after Guinevere’s death, he went on to aid Snow and David in their fight against George.
