History: The first wife of Robin Hood, mother of Roland Locksley, the very first woman in the Merry Men group, Maid Marian is a femme archer who fights for what she believes in, no matter the cost. Lady Helen, the woman who raised Marian from the time she was an orphaned toddler, found her when she was just two years in a run down shack all by herself. She doesn’t remember her parents but the assumption is that they were killed or put in prison for not paying their taxes. After Lady Helen took the child in, she was raised in the castle of King Richard of Nottingham, and was taught to one day become a Lady In Waiting. It wasn’t easy for the maiden because she wanted the complete opposite of the type of life she was supposed to become accustomed to living. She wanted to fall in love on her own, not be given away to the highest bidder. It was during one of her many nights that she snuck out into the forest to practice archery, something that was frowned upon for women to even consider participating in, that she met Sir Robin of Locksley and was immediately awestricken. Whether it was love at first sight or not, the young pair found themselves in love and married, soon enough producing a child from their relationship. The femme archer met an untimely death soon after her son was born but thanks to magic and villains hell-bent on revenge, she was brought to the current time period from the past through a portal by the heroes; which she is eternally grateful for. After the whole ordeal of the Robin and Regina situation, Marian found it best that Robin follow his heart, which was no longer with her. Now she’s become a modern woman, employed at the Animal Shelter with an apartment big enough for her and Roland to live happily, that is, when he isn’t spending time with his father.

RP Sample: Adjusting to this realm and all it’s astounding tools proved to be a heavy task for Marian to complete alone but the archer seemed to be too proud and foolish to ask for help unless she desperately needed it. Small things like operating the talking black box- television is what Roland instructed her to call it, she pretty much taught herself to use through trial and error but the small gadget that everyone in town seemed to be using to communicate with one another took longer to get used to.
Thankfully now she had enough knowledge to truly call herself a modernized woman. And modern women don’t tolerate what they don’t deserve....
Every single time she looked into the eyes of the blessing she called her son, she could see a glimpse of the man who helped to create such a beautiful gift. How could something so astounding rise from such a tragedy? Bittersweet memories haunted her during the moments she found herself alone with her thoughts.
"Did I make a big mistake? Even though I left you, I can't forget you...Will Roland resent me for not staying with his father? Am I going to spend the rest of my life alone?"
These thoughts...they were driving her mad. To the point where she had to travel out into the deepest parts of the forest, opposite the direction of the Merry Man camp of course, and practice a round of archery every Saturday to clear her mind since Roland was with his father during the weekend. She made a mental note to let him start practicing when he got to be a little older, for now he can use the plastic arrows they sell at the toy store.
When she stood out there, silence surrounding her as she loaded the arrow onto the bow, she nearly felt invincible as the arrow struck through the wind, piercing into the bark of the tree she deemed her target for that particular session. Some people drank to relieve their stress, others practiced hobbies, this was hers. Archery.
But even with standing out there alone, she was never truly alone. Her thoughts were always with her. Whether it were motherly thoughts about her son, memories of Robin, or oddly the mayor. Completely unexplainable, the young archer found herself dwelling on thoughts of the slowly budding friendship between herself and the older brunette. Never in a million years did she think things would calm down between them the way they did but deep down, she was glad they could share a laugh or smile once in a blue moon.
"Maybe things were meant to happen this way for a reason..." she whispered to herself as she shot another arrow, hitting the bullseye without even blinking.
