Katie stood outside the open door of her 2014 Maserati GranTurismo, arms crossed over her chest as she considered the sign in front of her. The words 'Welcome to Storybrooke' were printed in bold, elegant lettering across the surface, and she wondered again if it was even worth visiting. She needed to find Persephone; the girl's absence at their rendezvous point outside Hades was giving Katie an uncomfortable itch. Corey had never been not been at the rendezvous point, but it was not a reason to panic; at least, that's what Katie tried to convince herself. Perhaps she had, like some of the other gods of the pantheon, found her way to the elusive Storybrooke; she could be there right now, enjoying a nice cup of coffee. No need to fret, right?
In the backseat of the car, Hekabe, Katie's big, black Labrador, barked, leaping onto the pavement in one great bound. The great furball rolled around on her back on the blacktop for a bit, enjoying the feeling of the sun on her fur, no doubt, before jumping up and sniffing around. Her nose led her to the welcome sign, and she snuffled around it a few times before yipping again and bounding into the surrounding woods.
Sighing in frustration at the former queen's antics, Katie slammed the door to her car shut and glared down at the remaining occupant, currently curiously sticking her nose through the bars of a cage. "Wait here, Gale." The polecat gave her nose a twitch as Katie turned. Then, turning back to the weasel like creature and narrowing her eyes, she threatened, "Do not piss on my seats, or I swear to Zeus I will skin you and wear you as a hat." Her words seemed to cowl the tiny animal; it dropped from the side of the bars and went to curl up in a corner for a nap.
Satisfied that her leather seats would not be covered in urine when she returned, Katie set off into the woods to find her dog. She whistled, calling to the lab with threats and promises.
