Mourning a Friend

News had spread of the death of Storybrooke's mechanic Billy, and, it hadn't reflected well on some of the people in Storybrooke. One of the people was Ashley Boyd, who knew that Billy was also known as Gus. One of her best friends from back in the Forest. A friend who she never got to reunite with as Cinderella and Gus, before he was killed.

The worst part was, that this was someone else she loved that was killed by her uncle King George. She wasn't going to let people see her upset about it, especially Thomas, since she didn't want him to worry about trying to comfort her. Ashley had decided to just go to work at the Diner, and, focus on work. It gave her something to distract her.

Ashley had brought Alex to the Diner, since Granny could watch her, and, it would be easier to have her cared for there, then at Thomas's work at the Cannery. She soon opened the door and attempted to push Alex's stroller through the doorway and into the Diner, soon succeeding and placing her beside her at the counter.

She handed Alex over to Granny, and, smiled softly before beginning to prepare for her shift. She knew that she should throw the sweater she was wearing in the wash, since Alex had spit up on it. As Ashley continued to walk forward, she soon stepped on something that had dropped on the floor.

Bending down, Ashley picked it up. She didn't recognise it at first, but, focusing on it, she remembered exactly where it was from. It was something she had given Billy when he was still Gus, she kept it in her hand as she sat down and leant against the wall, feeling the sadness on her heart as she let one or two tears escape her eyes.
