Ever since he'd heard the news of what had happened to Emma, Neal had been trying to find a way to see the Charmings, and, see how they were doing. Neal wasn't sure why he was so nervous about going to face them all, since they were his family. And had always been one of the first ones to go and comfort whenever anything happened to him, causing him to not feel alone. So, he wanted to try and return the favour, but, Neal wasn't good at comforting people. Since he'd rarely been comforted, and, how was he supposed to know how to do something that he'd never witnessed or had done to him. He knew it was easier said then done, and, it was probably easier then he thought it would be. Neal had decided to just face it and make an attempt at it, if he failed at least he knew he would've tried. Neal got himself dressed, and, then left his small cottage and made the short walk to Snow and Charming's apartment. Neal soon reached the building where there apartment was, and, he soon made his way up to the level where the apartment was, and, when he reached the door, Neal waited outside and took a couple of deep breaths to let his nerves out for a bit, before knocking gently on the door. Neal wasn't sure whether they'd answer or want visitors, but, he decided to wait, and, find out that answer for himself. Neal bounced up and down on his feet as he waited for an answer, or a sign of movement inside the building. Prince Charming /David Nolan

Emma was gone for a few days now and David kept hoping that they would find a way back to her, or the other way around. Each time when someone knocked on the other side of the door, David hoped that it would be Emma who returned and would wrap both her arms around him, hoping that he would still remember her. Since Emma had disappeared, both him and Snow have been trying to find a way to track down their daughter but none of their effort got rewarded just yet. It was clear that they needed the help of others as well to be able to manage this. Snow went back to her old ways of wanting to hold their son the whole time, not wanting to risk on losing him too while David suffered from sleepless nights and endless running thoughts which haunted him till the early hours of the morning. Snow had taken their son for a little stroll while she would pick up some lunch from Granny’s. While they were looking for a way to get back to their daughter, life had to continue going as much as it was before. Neal still had to eat and enjoy some fresh air, got to be washed…, both him and Snow still had to eat as well but all of that didn’t take away the feeling of loss and worry. David got lost in thoughts once more while a cup of freshly made coffee lost its warmth in front of him on the kitchen counter. It was then that a gentle knock on the door broke his way of thinking and made him rush to open it. Maybe it was Emma. Once opened, David had effort to hide the disappointed expression. He had hoped for it to be Emma, but that hope fade more and more away by every time that it was someone else who came to visit. “Neal. Hey. Erm… come in.” David moved aside so he could enter the apartment. Neal Cassidy

In a way, Neal had been hoping that Lily had been wrong about what happened to Emma. But, at the same time Neal remembered that Lily had been one of the only people that had never lied to him before. Although, he held onto some hope that the person who had opened the door would've been the person who had been his best friend.
But, he could already sense that Emma wasn't going to be in there. Neal didn't mind, because David was still his friend. As was Snow. So, he would do his best to show he cared, even if he wasn't quite sure what, comforting involved. He never really had anyone comfort him back when he was growing up, but, hopefully he could figure something out.
Neal could sense the feeling of disappointment on David's face, he'd dealt with it enough himself to know that it was there, even if he tried to hide it. It wasn't just people being disappointed to see him. He'd had it himself when he didn't see his father on the other side of the door when he was growing up in this world. “Hey David. Um... thanks.” Neal said, making his way inside. “I heard about what happened to Emma” Neal said, making his way inside and then turning back towards David. “I wanted to check that you were ok”

David closed the door behind Neal after he’d entered the apartment before turning his attention onto the visitor. He gave Neal an appreciated nod before moving further towards the kitchen. “Well, we’re trying to keep ourselves strong but at certain moments we have to admit that it isn’t easy. We’re doing everything we can to find a way to get back to Emma but until now all of those ways seem to be harder than we thought.” A frustrated sigh followed while he opened the cabinet near the fridge, taking out another empty cup and filled it with some freshly made coffee. David placed the cup down onto the kitchen counter before sitting down at one of the high chairs. “Here you have some coffee. I don’t think I’m the only one needing that right now.” he gave the man an understanding smile. The disappearance of Emma wasn’t only hard for him and Snow, but for most of the people who knew her it came as an absolute shock. “We got a hold on something that would be able to bring us to Emma, but we need darkness to make it work. As of right now Regina isn’t able to make it work and our thoughts are on Zelena who is being in the control of the most darkness.” David noticed the look on Neal’s face when he mentioned the wicked witch. “.. I know… the same one that is being locked up right now. We only need to find a way to make her cooperate. But that is the tricky part” he took a sip of the coffee. Neal Cassidy

Neal watched as David went to close the door, smiling at the nod he gave him. He could sense what the problem was, but, he was hoping that he could find a way to be there for him. “I get that. The whole not wanting to seem weak or give up hope on someone you love. I'm sure you'll find your way back to her. Your family does find each other no matter what doesn't it?” Neal was still getting used to that, but, on the same level he wasn't a Charming. He was a Stiltskin-Gold, and, their family was different. He looked up at David as he sat down on a stool by the bench with a cup of coffee sitting in front of him. “Um, thanks David. You're right I do need some.” Neal said, making his way towards the table, and, taking a seat opposite him. Most people were still in shock, and, he was one of them, but, at the same time the way that Emma had become the Dark One hadn't surprised him. “The one time when the darkness wouldn't be my father. I'm not surprised that Regina couldn't do it, she seems to be a lot less dark lately. You're trying to get Zelena to help you?” Neal said, smiling softly. “Well, I'm not sure you'll find a way to. But, I could try talking to her, if you want.”Prince Charming /David Nolan

Neal said exactly the same as the rest of their friends and family did. ‘You all keep finding each other every time, why wouldn’t it be the case this time?’ It was true, they had been finding each other a lot of times by now, but the only reason for that was that there was always something or someone who broke them apart and made them fight to get their family back. If everything would stay normal for just once, no one would have to look for the other anymore, then they could be a real family. David let out a sigh, one that merely showed his frustration in all this searching the whole time. “We do find each other every time, but that’s because we will never give up on the ones that we love. I would give anything to have my daughter back, cause I keep losing her. A father isn’t supposed to fail his daughter.” David took a sip from the black liquid, the warmth of it ran down his throat and warmed up his stomach. A warmth that he needed. “We’re going to attempt on letting her help us yes, but I’m not too sure if she is that willing as we are hoping for. Being locked up in an isolated cell by the people that are asking you to help isn’t exactly stimulating, let alone tempting.”David tapped a few of his fingers onto the wooden surface of the table, searching for a distraction from the frustrating thoughts. “I’m not too sure if she would be listening to you. After all you are Gold’s son and we all know how she thinks about him.” Neal Cassidy

Neal hadn't meant to imply anything by what he'd said, he just remembered what Henry had always told him about his family. He could also tell that they didn't want to have to fight to find their family, and, just want a chance to be a family together. Neal knew how that felt, he'd wanted it his whole life, and, now when he was so close to having it, it had been taken from him again. His father was in a coma, and, Elsa was once again gone. He couldn't manage to hold onto it, again. Neal had finally gotten his father back, but, they still couldn't even be a real family. So, he knew what David was feeling very well. Neal ignored the frustrated sigh, and, just smiled softly. “Yeah, you never should give up on the people you love most. You didn't fail her David, I remember I used to think I failed Henry on so many occasions. Especially on Neverland and that year we were all sent back to the Forest. A father isn't supposed to fail his son either.” Neal felt his hand turning into a fist as it sat on the bench. Taking a small sip of the coffee, letting the warmth fall down his throat. “I don't think she'll be that co-operative to help. I understand that, if someone who had locked me up asked for my help, I may be against it too.” Neal smiled softly, as he looked down at his hands, trying to think of something to say at this point. Neal shook his head as he let out a soft chuckle “You're right, she may not want to listen to me. But, I can make her listen. How she feels about my father is irrelevant. This is between us.”Prince Charming /David Nolan

David gave him a nod in agreement when Neal mentioned that it would be a conversation between him and Zelena, not between her and his father. It could give other results, but would it be the results they were hoping for? “I’m sure that if you would mention that she could help us out by the use of magic, she would want to cooperate a little bit more easy..” David looked up from his cup of coffee while the warmth coming from it embraced the skin of his hand. “We maybe have something that can help us on getting to wherever Emma went. A wand. The apprentice managed to give us that before his health got worse. It’s a wand that needs light and dark magic for it to work. Once it does it will be able to bring us to Emma. We do have light magic but…” David paused while his thoughts went towards the ridiculous situation that formed a problem. The one woman who’d destroyed villages, murdered a countless amount of people and didn’t spare anyone with mercy wasn’t able to produce any form of dark magic. At least not the magic that was strong enough to make the wand work. All their hope and chance laid with someone wicked right now. Zelena… “We need Zelena to make the wand work. She’s the only one right now who would have the capability to produce magic that is…. Wicked enough to work. Do you think you can convince her to do that?” Neal Cassidy

Neal knew how Zelena felt about his father, but, he wasn't his father, so it meant that things would probably go differently. Especially when he was screwed over by the man, as much as she was.
“Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. That she gets to use magic.” Neal said, sighing softly. The warmth of the coffee was embracing him and helping. “So, you want to use a wand to go to where-ever Emma was sent to? So, you need...” Neal said, before pausing. It was surprising that Regina couldn't manage to cast the dark magic. A woman who seemed to have caused as much misery to people as his father had. Couldn't be the dark magic side. He would normally suggest his father, but, he wasn't the Dark One anymore. And he wasn't even conscious right now. So, that really only left Zelena. The Wicked Witch.
“So, wicked magic is what you guys need? Then I'll help. I could probably try to. I'd probably have a better chance of convincing her, then any of you guys.”
