Shattered

David had been trying to call Mary Margaret a few times already but he always ended up being on hold. Maybe Snow installed her phone like this for a reason and didn’t want to get interrupt while Neal was asleep.

He got everything they need, at least that’s what he hoped. Snow had made a list which didn’t seem to end, filled with groceries and stuff they were needing for Neal. David pulled over his truck and made his way to the back of it before he took out as much bags filled with groceries as he could carry.
The weight of the bags was definitely enough and David was glad that he had managed to make it to the same level as to where their apartment was without letting some of the bags fall on the ground.

He immediately stopped in his tracks when he saw that the door of their apartment was standing wide open and a few pieces of one of their chairs was lying on the floor in the hall way. It felt as if the ground pulled his feet against the wood and made it unable to move. The muscles in his arms lost their strength by what he saw, making the grocery bags fall onto the ground. David made his way inside the apartment as quickly as he could while the horrible scene in front of him made him speechless. Everything they owned seemed to be broken, everything they had built up. All of it had been ruined. There between all the rubble was his wife. Beaten, bruised, suffering.

His eyes widened to what he saw. Their son…. He was gone. On automatic pilot David wrapped his arms around his wife who looked for comfort in his own arms and against his chest. “Snow… Snow look at me” David carefully pushed her away from his chest so he was able to lock eyes with her while he kept embracing his broken wife. “Where’s Neal? Snow where’s Neal?”

For a moment time stood still. His breathing seemed to have stopped while his lungs were filled with air. The familiar sound of Snow’s voice dropped to the background together with the ticking of a clock on one of the brick walls. David looked around with widened blue eyes, letting the horrible news and ruined apartment settle down in his mind.
Furniture could be restored or replaced but not were his children. The damage that had been done to the apartment mirrored how he felt inside right after taking the blow of this horrible and disturbing news.
They could break as much as they liked, but there was one thing they had to stay away from. His family.

David moved his hands to the shoulders of his wife, slightly gripping them tighter as his eyes locked back on hers. “No other than Maleficent is the one to blame for this Snow. It wouldn’t have mattered if you would have defend yourself and our son or not. It was her plan all along to come here and take our baby. You defending him was only making it more entertaining to her.” David let go of Snow’s shoulders and moved himself as quickly as possible towards the bedroom, where his familiar sword was waiting for him to serve.
They had taken Emma from them 28 years ago, Zelena had taken Neal from them for 3 hours and now another villain had taken him away once more. There was no denying that his faith in being a good father had dropped, but one thing was for sure. His power and believe on never giving up on the ones you love had grown. David could feel the anger grow by the second, adrenaline ran through his blood while one of his hands gripped the handle of his sword tightly, knuckles turning white. That dragon was going to get slayed, for once and for all.
“Warn the rest of the town that Maleficent is back, inform Regina, I need to get rid of this dragon for once and for all and I will get our son back.”

David opened his mouth, ready to tell her she better stayed at the apartment. That he would call someone to stay with her until he got back. But he didn’t got the chance to do so as Snow had already dialed Regina’s number and waited for the once called Evil Queen to pick up.
Apparently not only Snow was going to help him out, but Regina as well. Maybe it wasn’t a good idea, but he didn’t want his wife to get injured once more or even worse…

Once Snow had told Regina where she had to go to, followed by hanging up the phone, David made his way back to his wife, taking a hold of her hand. “I’m not going to say you’re not allowed to come with me. But I want you to be careful okay? I don’t want you to get hurt again.” David’s eyes filled themselves with the look of love and worry for his wife. She looked terrible. David never saw his wife being beaten up like this before. He could only hope that Regina could heal her or she wouldn’t be able to help in this battle to get their son back.
“We will get our son back Snow, we will get him back and we will punish the dragon who’s responsible for this” David gave his wife a loving kiss on her lips before gesturing that it was time to go.

She had been taking a nap , finally had Regina been able to take a nap. the ringing and buzzing of her cell phone on the glass table top in the entry way. groaning as the tired Queen pulled her self off the couch. hands went up to her throbbing sore neck. rubbing the knots out hissing as she moved across the black and white flooring.

sighing as she saw the name on the phone, Snow picking up the cell and placing it to her ear. before Regina could say a word Snow told her tale that made her heart stop. Maleficent had Neal, Ill me be there Snow we will get him back. ending the conversation Regina made herself disappear out of her house in to station waiting for the two distraught parents.
