Setting: New York, a few months after leaving Storybrooke Tag(s):Emma Swan & @henry Note(s): Sorry, this was meant to be a post for Emma, but I figured might as well tag Henry, with the way this came out. xD Hope you don’t mind Frosty New York was a new experience for one Casey James. There were so many people, and so many Subways, Casey had trouble getting through the crowds, and had to board the subway a few times, after getting off the wrong stops. She was just grateful that NYU was just a fifteen minute walk from where she lived. Casey had to admit though; she never thought she’d have a love/hate relationship with a state; aside from Storybrooke that is. Casey had been relieved to get out of Storybrooke, but she had hated leaving her friends behind. Of course, she had Emma and Henry, but she had no idea where they were, and even if she did, they wouldn’t know her from Adam. In a weird way, Casey kind of missed Storybrooke. Sure, it was always cold and rainy, and she got herself into more trouble than she did back in her old neighborhood, but she had grown to love the busy small town. IT was part of the reason wy she had agreed to come to New York and get her degree in business and music. Unlike Storybrooke, it was a huge state, and she was still adjusting to that Speaking of friends, Casey spotted a head of brown hair, and had to blink. Wait, was that Henry? No, she was just thinking about them too much. She shook her head, and once again spotted the boy standing next to a moving truck and Emma. Casey groaned and through her hands in the air in exasperation. While she had missed her friends, she didn’t want to see them. Not when they didn’t even remember her. She was tempted to go the long way around, but decided against it. She would have to face them sooner or later. After all, the apartment complexes weren’t that huge, so it wasn’t like they would be able to avoid each other. Instead, she took a deep breath, popped up her collar to keep her ears warm, and stuffed her hands into her pockets, before walking over to the two. Hey, do you guys need any help?

It was a cold morning in New York but there wasn’t a lot to be noticed from that by Emma as she was moving all of her personal stuff out of the moving truck that she had hired for a while. It wasn’t a big truck but big enough to ask Henry for some help.
With the song of Charley’s girl playing on the radio in the background the moving seemed to be going faster and Emma couldn’t wait to be completely settled down, sit down in the couch and watch Netflix until she would fall asleep. All of the boxes filled with clothes and video games weren’t meaning anything if you compared it with the box she pulled out of the moving truck right now. It was the one box she had where she kept everything from her youth and her past. A box she rarely opened but had to be present at every place she ever lives in. Was it because of the comforting feeling it gave that she kept all of those things from the past? She didn’t know, but what she did know was that the things that were inside of it made her to the person she was now.
“Hey kid, help me out with your video games boxes. You know you have more of those things like I have clothes right?” Emma said with a playful smile while she carried her box filled with memories of the past. As she was waiting for Henry to pick up one of his boxes filled with games, Emma noticed a girl walking towards them. By her surprise she was even offering to help them out. “Erm… thanks for the offer but I think we’re fine.” Emma said with a small and investigating smile. “Are you ready kid?” Emma asked Henry as she turned herself back towards him.

@amberrayness Emma Swan Blowing hot air in his hands the chilly weather only made the teen grumpy. Sighing as he tilted his head back glancing up the tall building. It was larger then the last one in Boston . The faint tune of Emma song rung out as she unloaded the boxes. Twisting head back in the direction of the truck and his mom . well you did say I needed a hobby I got one grinning lifting up one if the game boxes. Out if the corner of his eyes noticing pretty red head wait what why is oh god play it cool henry don't look like a complete dork. thank you but like my mom said we got this his voice fluctuated from low to high and back down once more. Burning sensations eruption on his face as inflamed to be bright red. Henry Swan and you would be ?

Casey kept her hands in her pockets, and her head lowered a bit, as she waited for the others to notice her. Just when she thought that maybe she was intruding and that she should turn around, Emma finally noticed her; and Casey had to bite back the smirk and retort ‘yeah, I can be nice when I want to be’ at Emma, and instead, just smiled at the boy and his mother, feeling unsure of herself. “Erm… thanks for the offer but I think we’re fine.” Casey nodded, and backed up a bit, taking this as a chance for her to back out now. She really didn't want to get mixed up with them. She wasn't good at hiding her emotions, and she was sure if she stayed any where near them, that they would find out that she was hiding something from them.. Alright. Just thought I’d ask Ma’am. Sorry for bothering you. She was about to turn on her heels, and walk away, as she listened to mother and son talk to each other, before his voice traveled to her ears; alerting her that he was now speaking to directly at Casey.
Casey looked over to @henry, arching an eyebrow at the boy. Thank you but like my mom said we got this Casey nodded, and was about to walk away once more, but it seemed that Henry didn't want to end their discussion. Henry Swan and you would be ? Casey turned back around after sighing internally, so she was facing the boy, and smiled, trying not to look surprised at the fact that the boy had grown in just a few months. Her stomach gave a lurch, but she just ignored them; assuming that it was just the cold getting to her. James. Casey James. she held out her hand to the boy. It’s a pleasure to meet you Henry. Casey smiled at Emma Swan. And you are?

Emma had already started to walk towards the entrance of their new apartment when she noticed that Henry wasn’t following as there weren’t footsteps coming behind her. While one foot rested on the first step of the stairs towards the entrance door, Emma turned her upper body to see what was going on.
She’d already expect this to happen as she knew her son way too well, he was social and he was easy on getting now friends. He was just like his father and the complete opposite of herself when it came to that. Emma couldn’t help to listen to the greetings the both of them were making towards each other. Something that apparently had been noticed by the strange girl that had walked towards her and Henry. “I’m Emma. Henry’s mother.” Normally she wouldn’t mention the last part of her answer towards a stranger, but the both of them seemed to be quite interested in each other already and maybe it would be a good idea to play the protective mother card on this. “Kid, these boxes aren’t going to get upstairs on their own you know, unless you have magic hidden somewhere that can let everything magically fly upstairs.” Emma gestured towards the still closed entrance door, hoping that Henry would get the hint on opening it before the box in her arms would fall down on the ground.

Casey smiled as @henry took her hand; admiring his firm shake; before reluctantly letting go. After all, his mother; Emma Swan was watching them; and Casey didn’t want to give the woman the wrong impression. nice to meet you Miss James. Casey looked back to Henry, and gave him one of her rare smiles; as she stuck her hand into the pockets of her coat. Her stomach gave a lurch once more; as she studied the boy; he was slightly taller and his voice was starting to change; and that was only a few months in the making.
Casey hadn't changed all that much yet. She still had her glasses; but she had finally gotten her braces off last month much to her relief. Their little staring contest was broken as Emma introduced herself; rather bluntly.“I’m Emma. Henry’s mother.” Casey looked over to Emma, and blinked rather owlishly. Was the woman playing the mother card? Her eyes traveled from Henry to Emma, and then Casey took a step back, as if burned by something. It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Swan. Casey gave her a polite smile; her face shading a bit. It really sucked being a redhead sometimes.
Casey turned her attention back to Henry; glad for the change of subject. Sure, Henry was cute; and growing up, but she didn't see him in the way that Emma was no doubt thinking. Or, that’s what she was repeatedly telling herself in her mind; as she kept her face in a neutral position. So is it just you or is your parents here as well? Casey smiled sheepishly. Oh, it’s just me for the time being. I just started school at NYU; so kinda have to be close. I just moved here myself; from Maine about a month ago. The tips of her ears grew warm that had nothing to do with the cold; as she tried to word what she was saying correctly. My parents; well, my adoptive parents live back in Maine. I have no idea where my real parents are. She was relieved from having to say anything more, when Emma called out to Henry, clearly not in the mood to stand outside in the chilly air.
“Kid, these boxes aren't going to get upstairs on their own you know, unless you have magic hidden somewhere that can let everything magically fly upstairs.” Casey choked on air at Emma’s words giving the woman a perplexed look; before forcing out a nervous laugh, but kept her mouth shut; afraid that she’d say something she regretted. alright alright I going. Casey smiled at Henry, before walking towards the building, reaching for the door handle, letting them go in before her. After you guys. she said, attempting to wave them in.

It was a surprise to Emma that this girl was living on her own already. Not that she thought it was strange, but even after so many years it was still quite amazing to Emma how a feeling it was giving her when a young person told her that she was living alone already. Without the safety of the parents, without any family and love around.
Just like Emma was surprised about Casey living alone already, she was also surprised when she opened the door for both her and Henry. “Erm… thanks…” such kindness wasn’t really something where Emma is used to. Most of the time she had to fight for every right she had in this society, but now it seemed to be going way more smoothly. “Where exactly are you living in this building then?” the knowledge of this young girl living alone has raised Emma’s interest. She wanted to know more about this girl who stepped into her and Henry’s life just a few minutes ago. “Maybe if you don’t have to do too much stairs you can come to our apartment and have a drink?” Both her hands were still wrapped around the box that she was carrying. The box that was filled with memories she never wanted to forget. Memories she had hoped to forget, but those she had realized they had formed her to the person she is now.

Listening to their exchanges Henry had to do a double take on his mother when she invited Casey up for drink. Bushy brows furrowed together not sure what Emma had planned. Swallowing Henry turned his glance toward the red head. yeah I'm sure one of these boxes has our dish ware in them. smiling tapping his fingers softly against the cardboard of the box.
The other questions were common, it was more of her bounty training fairing up. Henry had learnt the hard way about keeping stuff from his mom. In his defense the new knight raiders games was worth skipping school and getting grounded. Now if he could just convince Emma to let him have it so he could play it was another plot for action soon. Just had to buy his time. when is that Guy from the shop suppose to stodgy with the table? what was his name Walsh ..something any who . He seem nice giving them a discount or could be he was guilty of checking out Emma the entire they were in the store.

Casey stood there, waiting for the other two to walk in, trying to ignore the uncomfortable feeling that she may have attracted too much attention to herself. Then again, she had promised to keep an eye on them for Regina, but that had quickly flew out the window, once Casey had gotten home and reunited with her parents. After they had ranted on her about running away, and they called her uncle to let them know that she had been found; Casey told them everything that had happened, and that’s when she learned that what she learned was the truth; and she really was the daughter of Dorothy Gale. Not only that, but they had told her everything concerning her and her parents; including the part where she had traveled through a magical portal, that led her twenty-something years into the future. After that, she had explained to her parents that she had gotten her GED a year early, so that she could apply for college. “Erm… thanks…” She shook the thoughts from her head; and smiled as the woman as she thanked her, arching her eyebrow. No need to sound surprised Miss Swan. I may not always be the nicest person here, but I do have manners. Casey wondered if Emma Swan had subconsciously remembered her; and her attitudes for the woman when they first met., but shook those thoughts from her head, realizing that Emma was asking her where in the building she lived. “Where exactly are you living in this building then?” Blushing at being caught in her thoughts, she smiled at the two again, making sure to not look at @henry more than she was supposed to. I live on the second floor from the very top ma’am. Second door on the left of the staircases. Casey followed them in, and thought. Er, I think. She turned, and held out her hands, and held up her non-writing hand. Yes. Left side. Casey blushed again, feeling rather stupid that she still had issues with left and right. Sorry. I’m dyslexic. I mean, I’m a lot better than I used to be; thanks to this teacher; but yeah, well, can’t always get it right. She muttered lamely. “Maybe if you don’t have to do too much stairs you can come to our apartment and have a drink?” It seemed that Casey wasn’t the only one surprised at Casey being invited over, but the girl smiled at the woman nonetheless. I would love to join the two of you; if it’s no trouble. I mean, I know you guys must have a lot of work. Though, my offer still stands. She winked at Henry, as the boy spoke. yeah I'm sure one of these boxes has our dish ware in them. Casey turned, and walked towards the elevator, before turning to Emma. Unless you rather take the stairs, I think it’d be a lot easier for you guys if we just stuck to the elevators. What floor are you guys on? She asked, already pushing the up button as Henry talked to his mother. when is that Guy from the shop supposed to stodgy with the table?
