Hook watched as David drunk the water allowing his Dreamshade to heal. Hook knew all about the affects of Dreamshade, as that is what took his brother's life all those years ago. Hook smiled and was slightly satisfied knowing that he allowed him to stay with his family, he became more satisfied when he knew it would allow Emma to keep her family.
Hook walked up to David and stood there smiling. Hook knew the water would work, but, also knew that David could now never leave the island. Hook placed his hand on David's shoulder "You alright there mate?" Hook asked, standing next to him.

David had made a decision. A decision which would allow him to be able to save his grandson. Dying or being stuck on this island were the ones he had. Once the liquid made contact with his mouth and got into his stomach he felt that it already started the work. The stinging pain in his chest area seemed to be decreasing immediately. The black lines right under his skin disappeared. By each second that went by David was starting to feel better and a laugh filled with relief came out of his mouth. He looked at his hand and saw the black lines disappearing right in front of his eyes. “it worked” he was amazed. This water truly helped. This water truly was the solution. With the relief that was taking over, it took a while before he noticed the little pressure on his shoulder made by Hook’s hand. Letting his eyes wander from the pirate’s hand to his face he held out his hand, gesturing he could use some help to get on his feet again. “I’m okay. Yes” letting out a sigh, still not believing that Hook was actually the one that came with the solution.

Hook smiled, as he took his hand and helped David to his feet. Hook wasn't sure he should tell him who the solution really came from. He probably would have trusted it less if he did, he remembered being here with his brother dying of Dreamshade. Then suddenly the one known as Pan told him of the secret of the water. It could heal someone of the poison, but, he conveniently forgot to mention that it stops working the instant they leave the island. Therefore killing his brother.
Hook looked at David as he saw that it had started to work. "Alright mate, now remember you can't leave Neverland, otherwise Dreamshade will take over and you'll die" Hook smirked at him, "So, come on mate, we should start heading back. If we don't leave soon, it'll be dark." Hook leaned towards David, attempting to allow him to use his body to lean on. Hook continued to try to keep him talking, to make sure that it was still working. Hook smirked, as he looked at him again "So mate, I'm pretty sure you don't believe this was my solution." Hook looked back at the waterfall and the memories came back again. Hook tried not to look to emotional, as they talked about the Dreamshade.

“I will keep that in mind Hook. Thanks for giving me a 2nd chance to save my grandson and bringing my family together.” David took a hold of the pirate’s hand, and put all his returned strength in his arm and legs to get on his feet again. Once both his feet were settled on the ground he let go of the pirate’s hand. Although the pirate saved him, there was still one question that remained. “one question. Why? Why risk your life for me when there was nothing for you in return?” Charming could already guess what the answer would be, but gave the pirate the opportunity to do so himself.
With a pirate who seemed to be leaning towards him, David took a few steps back. He didn't need his help for this as well. One time was enough. “I can still walk, as a matter of fact a lot better than before I drank the water.” David looked up at the horizon, Hook was right, they needed to head back or the darkness of the sky would make the way back a lot harder. David started to make his way back from the path they came from, away from the fountain with the still pouring down water. “To be honest, it doesn’t matter what I believe. There was a solution, you suggested it, followed by me taking it. And now here we are. If this is a question from you to make me say how grateful I am then just leave it like this Hook.” Turning his head slightly to the left to look back at the pirate out of the corner of his eye. “But yes, I’m grateful for your help.”

"Yeah, it's no problem mate" Hook looked at David and then smiled, "I think you know why I did this" Hook looked and continued "Emma gets her family". Hook stopped leaning as David stepped back, "Oh of course sorry mate" Hook looked at the horizon and realized it was close to getting dark, Hook was slightly relieved when he didn't need him to explain it. He probably would've been less trusting.
Hook walked back next to David, and smirked "Come on, let's go" Hook said, gesturing towards the side of the island "We need to go that way mate" Hook smiled, looking back at David.

As the both of them were making their way back to the camp, the night was slowly getting more visible as several stars started to appear the closer they came to the camp. Although the pirate had saved his life, at least for as long as he stayed on the island, there was still something that he wanted to know. David started to slow down his pace and gave the pirate a serious look. “Was it this you were talking about with Pan when I was back down that cliff? Don’t look surprised Hook, I heard you two talking. What was it about?” Before David would be willing to put away his prejudices about pirates and in particular Hook, the pirate needed to answer this question in complete honesty. And if the pirate would be able to do so, David would be doing so.

Hook looked up as he saw the sky was getting dark. Hook knew some of the stuff that happened here after dark, and felt they would be safer back with Emma and Snow. Hook continued to walk towards the place where they left Emma and Snow, when David suddenly stopped.
Hook looked at him as David began talking to him, Hook was caught off guard when he was asked these questions. He sighed and began to answer them. "No, this isn't what we were talking about" Hook said, looking around before continuing "This was something that I learned about a long time ago." Hook lost his smile, as he remembered his brother and how the water had ended in tragedy with him and looked back at David, "He was telling me something to test which side I was really on." Hook looked down at his hook and then looked back at David, "Honestly, he wanted me to use my hook to hurt you, rather then use the water to save your life." Hook continued to look at David, "Is that what you wanted to hear?"

The answer that the pirate gave him was one he didn’t expect. David’s thoughts about what the subject might have been between Pan and Hook were less aggressive but more sneaky. David didn’t react to it right away as the disbelief washed over his face. “So, Pan tried to make you kill me? Although we aren’t the best of mates you still decided to hand me over the water and not to kill me as Pan hoped you would do.” Evaluating everything he knew now, David looked at Killian. By the way that the pirate spoke about the conversation between him and Pan, David knew that he was speaking the truth. It was the grateful nod that he gave the pirate that proved he was truly appreciating the decision he had made. It was from that moment on that this pirate came onto the list of people who David would start to be trusting.

Hook had meet Pan before, when he was here with his brother. And he really didn't trust the man and wasn't going to do anything for him. Especially not when it involved hurting good and innocent people.
Hook nodded and looked at David guiltily, although smiled when he could tell that he was telling the truth. Hook was happy to be honest with this man, he had come to actually kind of like and not just because he was Emma's father.

“When we get back at the camp, I don’t want you to tell anyone what has happened to me. Can I be sure of you keeping your word on that?” David gave the pirate a serious look as they were still heading their way back to the others. “It’s better that no one knows about the cure of the dreamshade. When they will know that I can’t leave the island, that will only hold everyone up again. Definitely Snow. I will tell everyone on the proper moment, preferably when Henry is safely back with us.” Although the pirate had managed to keep the dreamshade a secret already, David expected him to keep that secret a bit longer. There was no use in telling everyone what his faith had become by drinking the curing water.
