(Set after the curse broke )
The curse had been broken a few days already, and with people still searching for their family and friends, it seemed that life wasn’t more easy now. David had done a lot of things to try to get people to calm down when they couldn’t find their family yet, but for this evening he decided to call it a day. He just wanted to have a relaxing time for just a few hours. There was only one place to do so properly and that was Granny’s diner. It was here where he found some time for himself, at least that was normally the case.
He had entered the diner but instead of hearing the normal sounds like the coffee machine and dishes which were getting washed there was a sound which he couldn’t place into this environment. It came from the kitchen of the diner and became louder the more steps he took towards it.
David frowned his eyebrows before pushing the door open which gave him entrance to the kitchen of the diner. He had to say that it was quite surprising to see Granny weld the door of the freezer instead of making coffee. His eyes wandered towards Ruby who was standing there too, she even looked kind of nervous. David made his way towards the both of them. “What the hell is this?” he looked quite confused in the direction of Ruby, hoping he would be getting an explaination soon, because well, this was kind of something new.

Red heard the bell above the door ring she could smell that it was David. She knew he find them in the back her mind was to preoccupied with what her grandmother was doing at the moment. Nibbling on a thumb nail, it needed to be done before to long or things would just get worse. Her cloak was missing the one thing that stopped the wolf from coming out. Running a hand through her hair Red worried that without it the wolf would want to come out in a big way.
Looking out the corner of her eyes she spotted David, hands on hips and confused look upon his face. would you believe she got into modern art? she joked uneasily. Since yesterday the desire to change had hit the waitress so hard it made her head spin. Bringing her eyes down to glance at the blue and white tile floor. Boots schuffling back and forth not sure how to tell her friend this. Its for me , Wolf time is coming up and I'm doing this as a way to protect everyone. pushing some hair , staring at the welding job Granny was doing. She couldn't let the monster out it had been caged far to long Red was scared to see what the creature would if it got out.

David chuckled by the joke Ruby made. He could tell she was very nervous by the way she seemed to be almost eating her whole nail from her finger. He frowned his eyebrows when Ruby mentioned that all of this was for her. “You mean that you are building a cage for yourself? But..” David followed every movement that Ruby was making and turned himself towards her more so she would know that he was truly interested in this and maybe even wanted to help out if she liked to. “I thought that you had figured out to control the wolf inside of you ages ago?” David let his eyes wander from her feet till her head. She didn’t look like she was going to turn in a wolf. At least not immediately. But then something popped into his memory. “What about your red hood that keeps you from turning? You can always try that instead of waiting a whole night in this…” he turned his upper body to face the cool cell which was ready to use. “…cage” Prince James

I'm scared because its been twenty eight years I'm afraid i cant control it any more David ive been out of practice for so long i might not be able to handle this anymore. turning her body to toward him unable to meet his eyes. She was scared alright remembering everything she had done when she had no control. Pushing fingers through long brown hair, Red didnt want more blood on her hands.
The mention of the cloak made her eyes snap up she gave him a weak smile The cloak is gone i looked for it everywhere, i even went to Gold ..i mean Rumple to make a deal for it. I thought he would at least have but he didnt David. I cant be reason someone else loses their life because of me..i wont go back to being a monster.Prince Charming /David Nolan

The fear that Ruby was having didn’t only shine through by her words, her eyes were telling him the same thing. Maybe she wasn’t sure about herself, but David was. He didn’t believe that Ruby would be doing something to people, he believed that she wouldn’t. He reached out his arm and placed his hand on her shoulder, squeezing it lightly to give her some assurance. “I know you Ruby, I trust you, Snow trusted you, wolfs time or not you are not going to hurt anyone tonight.” It was true, he trusted Ruby. She had learned a lot about controlling the wolf in her. He knew that she could do this, she only had to believe in herself. “You’re not a monster Ruby, but if this…” he looks at the self-made cage while he let go of her shoulder “…cage is giving you a secure feeling, I’m not the one who is going to stop you to go in it tonight.” He gave her a small smile. Its funny how a few simple words or a kind touch can make enforce a simple want for hope. Her head turned when the bow torch blaze through the metal, a glower on her face. She had hoped that maybe just maybe wolftime wouldn't have happen but we don't get what we want.. thank you for that David but i would feel better if I'm locked in there. I cant risk the hunger the wolf has. Red sighed closing her eyes bringing her thumb up to her lips beginning to nibble on the nail.As the metal began to merge with each other the reenforced door was the only guard for the town. A part of her prayed that it would hold.
Nodding when David agreed to this Thank you David , would you do the honors of locking me in before you leave? Red requested a pleading look in her sad red rimmed eyes.

David nodded in an understanding way. “Alright, I will lock you in Ruby” with a small sigh he gestured to the self-made cage, which first was just a cooling cell. With one hand on the handle of the door he waited for Ruby to get inside. He gave her a small but friendly smile when she walked past him and entered the cage. “Okay Ruby, remember the first thing that I do in the morning is letting you out of here. Take care will you?” He looked at her big brown eyes before he closed the door of the cage. David turned himself around to face granny who also was still there “I will be here in the early morning” with one last nod he made his way out of the diner. But he had to admit that locking up his friend didn’t feel like the right thing to do. The next morning….The morning came a bit more early than he expected when he received a phone call of Granny, telling him that Ruby has made her way out of the cage where he locked her up in last night. With huge nail scratches on the inside of the door Granny fears for something might happen to her, or anyone else in town. As fast as he could he got out of the bed and hurried himself towards Granny. The only place that would be logical to look at would be in the woods. David had parked the car at the edge of it, safely next to the road to avoid other cars from hitting his truck. “Okay Ruby, I am getting you home safely” he whispered to himself. With the wind brushing through the leafs, footsteps on the wet ground were barely able to be heard. “Ruby? Ruby are you here?” He let his eyes wander through the trees and bushes, hoping for any sign of Ruby being there. “Ruby, it’s me David, are you here?” Prince James

Ruby sat down on a couple of milk crates this was what torture was....waiting. Soon the moon would hang high in the sky. Her body would morph into her other form, the wolf howled with pleasure. Bowing her head into shakey hands, fading to black... Running through the forest ,jumping over fallen trees. The wolf thrived at this time not sure how or who opened the door . Just felt the relief of being once more.
......Next morning ...... Waking up in a grass bed Red stretched her arms above her head. Covering her mouth stifling a yawn, the brunette sat up confused , no she was locked away how did this happen? David she could hear him, standing up letting her gaze wander about the area. I'm here David pulling out twigs and leaves from her hair and clothing. Moving toward the sound of her friends voice. Saying a silent pray that no one was hurt. When Red was a few inches away away from David she finally had the courage to ask Did I hurt anyone?

It didn’t take long for David to find his friend. It wasn’t really that difficult if all of a sudden someone with a bright red cloak appeared a few feet away in front of you. “Ruby, thank god there you are. I’ve been searching for you the moment I got up and got a phone call from Granny. You must have fallen asleep here.” The cold morning air made little clouds appear out of his mouth by every word he spoke. He felt so relieved that he had found Ruby and that she was okay. At least she looked okay. “Ruby, it’s alright. All we know for sure is that you broke out of the cage last night and ran into the woods. There is no reason to assume the worst.” Fear was clearly showing in her eyes as she listened to his answer. He trusted her enough not to think that she did something last night. Now she only needed to trust herself to start believing it. “Come on, let’s take you back to town and get you something warm to drink to recover from the events of the night.” David place his arm around her shoulders and bumped her a little bit. Maybe that helped to make her relax. Prince James

Hearing everything that David began to say Red swallowed back the lump of fear that had formed in her throat. Everything seem so buried remembering being in the cooler transforming and nothing just darkness. Taking a deep breath allowing it to fill her lungs frighten that she could have killed someone just she did Peter. No her friend was right all they knew right now was that she ran out into the woods. Nodding her head Red started to walk back with Charming to his old beat up truck. Folding her arms over her chest. The idea of a hot cup of coffee sounded like pure magic at this moment. Being out all night with fur did have its advantages one never gets cold, but in her other form out in the morning cold New England air made goosebumps appear over her flesh. I will not fight you on that David thank you for this she bumped him a smile stretched along her lips. It was the same reaction Snow did to her when Red became a bit to excited it was playful way of saying no worries calm down. Which was its effect , a giant sigh of relief escaped her mouth. By the time they return back to his truck his walkies talkie was going nuts I guess the town missed you David. it wasn't until the words murder rang out over the the little box Red froze ...god no...
