Snow exited the back room of the library arms full of books. today was the first day of Reading out loud program for the Storybrooke school system. With the curse broken and Belle now in control of the library what better way to get children of the realm interested not only in comic books or tv shows but honest to goodness books.
walking to the round table that had a wide selections of reading levels. The petite princess gently laid the down the stack began to spread the them about. the door to the main entrance had opened but Snow didn't see anyone come in. must have been the wind smiling down she began to hum a small tune until she heard a loud thump and scuffle of a cart being knocked over.
running to the noise expecting to find a mess but instead coming upon a skinny rather unsure fellow tripping over the books that had fell on the floor. slowly moving toward the gentlemen smiling kindly the princess bent down and began to help pick up the mess hello there was there something I or belle could help you with?

Ragetti had been curiously walking down the main street of Storybrooke, shyly looking into the store windows and the library's window defiantly caught his eye. He had always had a interest in books and learning to read them ever since that priest had visited him in the Port Royal jail for a few reasons. The first was honestly out of the fear for his own mortal soul since the priest told him that he had to read the Bible to save it which growing up in Tortuga he never learned. The other reason was his odd for a pirate fascination in facts and he understood he could find more in books. Both of these reasons had the lanky pirate opening the door to the library and gawking at the shelves full of them to the point he didn't notice the cart in front of him. He nearly jumped a mile when he knocked it over and he blushed shyly up at the women that had approached as he was clumsily scrambling for the books.
"O..Oh! P...Please be forgivenin' me for 'is. I was not be meaniniin' to be makin' such a mess."

Smiling gently at the what seemed to be overly apologetic man. its alright will accidents happen kneeling down next to knocked over books. Knees pressing into the hard wood floor. Gathering up what she could within her arms. I trip over my own feet few times a day standing up slightly pushing the gathered up books on to the near by chart.Is there something I can help you with? You seem to be wanting something.asking nonchalantly she knew he was new to Storybrooke but that he past was bit shady . But then again if Snow thought about it who in this town didn't have a bit of shady past. my name is Snow White and you would be?beaming brightly at the stranger hoping to put him at ease.

"Uh...Well.." Ragetti stuttered as he quickly but gently handed over the books he had been clambering for to Snow and fidgeted with his wooden eye some as stood back up. It had a tendency to get loose when he bent over much and the last thing he needed right now was for it to pop out in front of such a kind woman. He had repulsed a few women back in Tortuga even by losing it a few times at the pub when he had got too drunk off rum. "M..My name be Ragetti and well...t...this may be soundin' foolish since I be a pirate... Even me uncle Pintel be sayin' I shouldn't be carin' but I've always be curious bout books." he admitted shyly, still rubbing at his eye more as his nervous tic then to make sure it didn't fall out.

Not wanting to stare at the false eye or the fact the stranger was playing with it. Grabbing the books off the table nodding her head toward the reading table. Smiling kindly Snow walked toward the table the soft clicks of her flats against the hard wood floor.
why would I think that is foolish? I know many people that are curious about books. placing the stack on the small round table. its a sign of intelligence to be curious that is always precious . Now Ragetti what type book would like check out today?

Ragetti followed Snow shyly, blushing lightly at the fact she mentioned that his curiosity in odd facts was a sign of intelligence. He has never heard it put that way, he was used to more blank stares or eye rolls when he spouted out random facts to his fellow shipmates, which had he heard smarter townspeople talk about when they were in their ports.
"Uh Miss.....I don't knowin' 'at good it be doin' if I be takin' a book from here...since...well I can't be readin' it." he glanced at the books on the table shyly. "I be havin' a Bible in my bunk that a priest be givin' me when I was awaitin' the gallows in Port Royal and I be tryin' to read it but cause it might be helpin' my mortal soul but...uh..." he wrung his hands a little. "Pint be sayin' 'ats a mark against well.. you know who." he says as he shyly gestures upwards.

noticing the slight color on the mans cheeks. Snow thought it was sweet that he could be so effected by the word intelligence. he seem so nervous it made the princess really feel bad for the man . there has to be a way to make him feel more comfortable. then the deep dark secret came to light placing the final book down on the table. Ragetti couldn't read. hand went up to her heart that poor man. everyone should learn how to read.
frowning Snow white made her way to the pirate would you like to me to help you learn how to read?gently squeezing the man's hand. glancing about the table picking up reading for beginners book. during the first curse I was teacher so this will be a breeze.

Ragetti blinked very surprised at the raven haired princess's offer and blushed shyly at her touch. No one had ever offered to do such a thing for him, as to teach him to read over all the years even though he had looked for someone to do so. "Y...You be willin' to be teachin' how read? I..I never be findin' anyone wishin' to before. Most thought I be a fool when I be askin'." he admitted shyly as he watched her pick up the book, unsure what it was abour."Curse? Blackbeard be doin' somethin'here too?" he asked confused.

Jerking her head back around at name being dropped of Blackbeard . She had met the pirate once when she was trying a run away from Regina. Gripping the book to her chest nails tapping over the hard cover. no not Blackbeard more the Evil Queen. smiling sheepishly
Maneuvering around him headings toward a lone table so they can talk freely . its a very long story mostly filled with a lot of regret and sadness on all parties side. sitting down gracefully crossing her legs .
Snow patted the seat next to her everyone has the right to learn read. It will open a new world for Ragetti and I'm just thrilled I get help.

Ragetti was surprised that Snow seemed to recognize Blackbeard's name but by her reaction, he did not wish to press it further knowing how scary the dangerous the pirate was.
"Oh I be understandin' that. I be havin' a few sad stories my self, Miss." Ragetti said quietly as he watched her sit. Her manner reminded him of Elizabeth and it gave him a sense of familiarity, enough at least to trust her enough to site next to her. Although it didn't break his streak of shyness as he did and found himself not sure what to do with his hands as he sat. "I..It be very kind of you to be willin' to be tryin' to teach me....I will be tryin' my best as well." he stumbled out as he still fidgeted with his hands.
