It was Jini's finally day off from the busy days that had passed. She even had to hire people for the cakes that were flying over the counter as she had hurried to make them. Christmas and New Year had passed by and she had spend it laying broken on the ground. She never gave over to the people that helped around so all she had been doing the past few days was running around like a lunatic to watch everyone that was around in the shop. She didn't even have the time to talk to Granny who still came to get her stuff everyday. She understood well where Jini was going through, but somehow Jini noticed the woman needed to talk somehow. Next time she was open she would talk with Granny for a moment. That's what she promised herself.
She was not walking on the path towards the stables. Between the things she had been visiting her horse of course she did. But she never really got the chance to ride on her for a long time. They were soul connected so Jini couldn't stay away for long. She visited in breaks and in evenings until it closed up. Talking to the animal while brushing his fur made her calm down. Calm down from all the stress that had been floating around. She was really glad that her horse had been coming back and forth from the magic world. There was something in her she just couldn't miss.
She started humming a song when she got close to the box where Amaretto was settled. She heard the horse kick the door as in being happy to see her. She smiled. "Hello my friend." She said opening the box door and wrapping her arms around the neck of the animal. "Sorry I'm late, but I needed some beauty sleep" Jini said laughing while Amaretto huffed. "I brought you this....." She pulled some carrots out of her bag and fed the animal. "Let me get you saddle.... We are going for a long ride. Are you ready?" She smiled as Amaretto nodded her large white head. "Okay, give me some time.... Let me get your stuff." She said as the horse wanted to walk right after here. "Be right back!' She said closing the box door and walking off to the place where they held the saddle's.

The holidays were over and just like every year David had spent it with his family. It had been Neal’s first Christmas and for the first time these holidays were spent together with Emma as well. It were the best holidays David had in many years and Snow seemed to have challenged herself with a new menu she had prepared. It tasted heavenly.
A few days had passed by since the holidays and the start of the new year seemed to be going quite peaceful. No problems were going on and the town wasn’t getting terrorized by a new villain, curse or spell. With other words…. It was the perfect moment to go to the stables and visit his horse. It had been a while since he’d last had time enough to stay longer than just feeding and brushing the animal. But with life finally getting back to normal, it was his chance.
David was about to open up the huge wooden door of the stables before he heard someone’s voice coming from the other side. Someone was there as well, but the voice was muffled by the distance and David entered the building. To his surprise it was Jini which made him smile. “Also recovering from the holidays huh?” he said with the sound of recognition.

Jini walked up to the place where they cleaned and kept the saddles. She just had given the comment a few days ago to repair the scratches she had made with her pants a few days ago. She was so mad at herself for not pulling on another pants and just be that lazy. She asked the man if her saddle was repaired and he went of to get it. She leaned against the door waiting for it. Normally she would grab it herself, but because it was cleaned it wasn't on her usual spot so that meant hours of looking while the man who held them up knew exactly where it was. She smiled as it came closer and looked at where the scratches were. "You guys are amazing. I cant see them anymore!" She smiled. "You can send that bill over to the Bakery right?" The man nodded and handed the saddle over to me. I held it and he bowed softly. Jini frowned. "Why are you bowing?" She asked. "Because you are king George his daughter." He said and Jini sighed. "I'm just the normal Jini as I always am. You don't have to bow for me I promise. I would not hurt you in any possible way. I'm not keepable of that. She saw a smile on his face as he waves and she turned away to get back to Amaretto.
That was until she found out someone was standing in front of her. She saw a smile on his face and she realized that it was her somewhere brother. "Hello David." She said with a soft smile. "Yes, it was a few crazy weeks at the Bakery." She said with a deep breath like she sounded exhausted. "All the cakes were flying. Can you believe that?" She laughed softly. "I even had to hire some people to get all the work done. I've never been so busy as the past few weeks. I think people are getting back to a huge weight with all those cakes." She hesitated to ask if David had one of her cakes too. But Jini was quite sure that Snow had made one herself or just didn't.
She found out her saddle in her arms was really heavy and she walked a little bit up to Amaretto's box. She hoped David would follow her to the box but she changed her mind. She looked at her brother and asked. "Wanna come for a ride?" She looked over at his horse and saw that he was happy with her question. Once Jini had seen his horse and Amaretto walking around outside. They were really happy with each other. "Because I was planning to take a ride on Amaretto in the woods." She finished.

“I can imagine. If there is one thing that’s even more important than family during the holidays then it’s food.” David chuckled as he knew he was right. Family was very important but when it came to dessert and food at the holidays, every member of his family was even more relaxed and happy. “We had a cake from your store as well. Snow had come by to pick it up but you weren’t there at the time. It was tasting great. I thought you might wanted to know that” a small smile formed but changed into a bigger one when Jini asked him if he wanted to go for a ride together with her. “It’s a great offer but….” David started to rub the back of his neck, not sure if he still had enough time left to do this. “…okay, you know…. why not? I still have some time left before I have to go back to the apartment. Neal had been quite fussy at night, so Snow will be glad that I take him over for a little while.” David collected all of the stuff he needed to take his horse for a ride. It had been ages since he last did this. “You’re probably not going to believe me, but this even has been months since I last went for a ride on a horse. I’m not even sure if I am still able to. I guess I will follow your lead through the woods.”

"Yeah it seems to be so very important that I forgot to get myself a proper Christmas meal. Luckily I was alone for christmas so nobody was dying on my bread with jam." She laughed, but it actually sounded kind of sad. She had been alone this christmas as she usually was. She had no particular friends to stay with and her family was messed up. At least in her head it was. It's wasn't a really relaxed christmas for her. She decided to keep her shop open in case people needed fresh baked bread and cakes for dessert. People had come by the shop for that and it was actually kind of busy during the christmas time. Everyone seemed to need some fresh things and it was a succes to stay open, plus she was less alone than in her loft watching chick flicks and eating the left over bread with jam.
"You did?" Jini asked as her brother told her that they had a cake from the shop. She smiled wide and said "I'm glad it tasted well. I doubted that sometimes as I had a rush making them. Thanks for letting me know." She lifted up the saddle in her hands waiting for her brothers reply on her question. She saw that he was doubting between something, but she hoped he wouldn't decline her offer. Maybe she needed to get to know him more to have that little piece of her family fitting more for the next coming year. One of her resolution things too. Bonding with Family.
"Ahw" She said when he talked about little Neal being fussy the past night. "We won't make it long I promise." She said and than laughed at him telling that he hadn't been horseriding in a while. "It's okay, I haven't been on longer trips eighter. But you know what they say! It's like riding a bike." She laughed and made her way over to the box where Amaretto was waiting for her. "I will see you outside David!" She yelled over her shoulder and started to get Amaretto ready. When she was done the horse followed her outside. She putted the cap on her head and climbed on the large horse, waiting for David to arrive.

The enthusiasm of Jini made him smile and unable to say no to the little trip they were about to make. Maybe it would be the perfect way to start of the new year and to get to know his half-sister a bit better. David remembered the last time they tried to talk to each other. It end up in a fight and the both of them ignoring each other for the next couple of weeks after it. But new year means new plans and new goals. Jini wasn’t the one responsible for David not knowing anything about this. All of that responsibility laid with George. He made his way towards his horse and tapped the animal on his side with his hand, letting him know that they were going for a little trip. He was curious on how this was going to go. It had been quite some time since he’d last did this. It didn’t take long for David to make his horse ready for a ride as it felt as something he did every day. Back at the Enchanted Forest that was indeed the case, but here in Storybrooke it was way more logical to use his truck to do some errands instead of going by horse. David joined Jini outside the stables on the back of his horse who’s manes were moving by the wind. It felt good to be doing this, it was like back at the old days. “I guess I’m ready to go for that ride through the woods. I can’t promise not to be holding you up.”Jini James / Sophia Barone

Jini smiled as her half-bother came out of the stables on his horse. "Maybe you just have to try a little harder. Amaretto is the horse that makes me go to the most unexpected places." The smile became a playfull grin as she made Amaretto move. "Come on boy, let's go." She said to the horse as they began to walk over the path to the woods slowly. She had once being out to run over there, but with that she got a warning. People could walk around here and could get walked over. She sighed and so did Amaretto. They were used to the running as they did in the enchanted forest mostly to get to other kingdoms as soon as they could.
She looked behind. Holding the bridles in her right hand and the other one to look behind. She knew Amaretto wouldn't let her walk into a tree. She trusted the animal she became one with so many time ago. "You okay?" She asked her brother as she looked at him. The path became wider. They could walk next to each other now and she held Amaretto in to make David walk next to her. She smiled kind and said. "Can you keep up already?" She joked that one. It couldn't be that bad with the horse he had. It was an expensive one. Amaretto had found her as a wild horse when she just became to live in the enchanted forest. The horse had changed her live. It made her forget about Killian most of the time. He took away the pain she felt deep inside of her and he showed her the world.

Did she just challenged him to keep up with her? David recognized that look. It was a look filled with tease and challenge. Both of his heels tapped lightly against the sides of his horse, commanding it to start walking. A little clicking noise made by his tongue against the palate of his mouth helped to let his horse respond to it. Both his hands hold the reins tightly as he followed right behind Jini at one of the many uneven roads leading towards the forest. The slight wobbly movement while sitting on his horse’s back felt as if there hasn’t been a day without going for a ride through the woods of the Enchanted Forest. Unfortunately that was only a feeling and far from reality. Once the road was widening David tapped his heels against the sides of his horse to make it catch up with Jini. “Don’t challenge me, you would be surprised what I’m still capable of after so long.” He gave Jini the same look of tease and challenge in return as the one she kept giving him. “where did you learn how to ride a horse? Did George teach you?” David was curious. Not everyone got the chance to learn it at the Enchanted Forest unless you would learn it yourself or got the help from someone who was able to afford a horse and willing to teach you. "I'm not challenging you, Mr. Charming." Jini said with a teasing tone in her voice as she didn't knew how to act right now. People weren't usually this nice to her. Only if they got their bread and cakes in time. If she used this tone people looked at her like she was crazy or something. She didn't really fit in anywhere. That was probably why things got on a little rough the last time with both Charming and the talks with her father. "George was never in the picture until now remember. Amaretto came up to my house when I lived in the enchanted forest and she never left my side since than. Jini said patting the horse in his neck softly. I have been learning it myself as I was comepletely on my own over there." She said hoping the interest in her was something real and she could build up some family. Prince Charming /David Nolan

“You did quite a good job on learning it to yourself then, cause the way you position yourself on your horse is perfect. Believe me, I’m not the expert on horseback riding but I can tell that you’ve done this quite a lot before.” He gave Jini a friendly smile. For the first time after their argument they were spending time together. Time that was being filled up with things that the both of them liked. For some reason that seemed to be the best way to forget what happened when they first met and to feel less uncomfortable. “Jini, I want to let you know that I’m sorry for how I reacted the last time I saw you.” David made sure that the both of them kept on the road by steadying the reins. “I know that we’ve end up with an argument and that we didn’t start off in the best terms so… I want to apologize for that. I know that there won’t be any excuse for what I said to you back then, so… again I’m sorry.”Jini James / Sophia Barone
