Annabelle marched determined down the path until she felt her feet halt in front of the large door behind which Regina locked herself from the world. Right now the terrible events between her and Snow begged for another war to break free and Annabelle thought as much as anyone Regina only needed someone to understand, someone to comfort. Her fist pounded on the door but there was no answer, the queen certainly wasn't going to open up for company and she knew it. She glared at the door as if it were the damn thing's fault she didn't gain entry into the house. "Damnit Regina!" she yelled out "I didn't become your friend just so you can shut me out!" but still there was no answer and an annoyed huff escaped her lips as she stepped backwards with her hands on her hips and looked the house over. She watched the wind slip through the curtains by an open window and a sly smirk grew on her lips. This was what she used to do for a living and old habits never truly died. "You can't keep out a thief Regina" she muttered smugly to herself before quietly slipping towards the entry point and gripping the windowsill with bother her hands and expertly hauling herself over and inside the beautiful home that belonged to Regina. She slapped annoyed at the flapping curtains and stepped further into the cold atmosphere that hung within the home. "Surprise" she said in a soft singsong voice as Regina faced her from the doorway "didn't think you'd get rid of me that easily did you?" but her smile was gentle and her eyes sympathetic as she stepped towards the kitche n "please tell me you've got something worth drinking around here somewhere" her finger slipped open cupboards from one end to the other before finally finding a bottle of good wine and holding it in her palms with a suggestive smile "I have a feeling you need it" Regina Mills

❝ Evil isn't born its made ❞ The pounding had stopped and Regina hoped that it meant Annabelle was gone now. The Queen didn't want to see anyone. Not even Henry had dared to come to check on her. Sitting on the steps wiping wet cheeks off, now there was no one left who actually cared . both hands holding on to the locket that belonged to Cora. It wasn't until the singsongy voice Annabelle did Regina finally break her eyes away from the pictures. get out no I don't have any alcohol please just go following after the blonde who was looking about the dinning room trying to find her bar . fine if you would just go to he living room I have dessert Sherry in there. A fist held on to the locket the pain of it digging into the fleshy part of her palm . At least helped with a focus on the pain instead of sorrow. why are you here ? Shouldn't you be checking poor Mary Margaret? sneering as the woman's name rolled from her tongue. She would watch Snow died if its the last thing she would do. The light would faded from those cheery eyes of her ex stepdaughter. The idea made a wicked smile spread over her mouth as the Sherry poured into the glasses . placing the knob back on the decanter Regina practically shoved the glass into Annabelle's hand drink and leave

The pain Regina felt was quite obvious, well if you looked close enough and Annabelle did, she noticed the redness within her eyes and the way she practically dug the locket into the soft flesh of her palm. Snow had all her family, besides Annabelle had already checked on her friend but she was distant and regretful and practically hated herself for what she did. Regina on the other hand had no one except Henry and right now he was as frightful and upset as a young boy can be. Regina needed a friend, Annabelle couldn't help but try to lessen the burden of her loss, whether she wanted the care or not.
"Snow's broken and regretful, you have to understand that she isn't used to evil. It's eating her up and well she's got all the family she needs" she never truly felt comfortable continuing with the cursed names, they were who they used to be and no curse would tell her otherwise "I figured you could use someone" she smiled softly at the queen, knowing what it felt like to lose a mother. Not that she remembered much of her own.
"Wipe that evil off your face" she said with a frown "it really doesn't suit you anymore, besides revenge isn't going to get you anywhere in fact it will only alienate Henry" she took the glass cursing under her breath as the rough movement spilled the drink all over her hands.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily Regina, if I only wanted a drink" she held the glass in the air with a disdainful look "I'd have taken today's shift at the rabbit hole. I'm here because I wanted to check up on you, whether you like it or not" her tone was strict and a determined smirk grew on her lips, if Regina wanted her gone it would take much more than a spilled drink and cold shoulder.

❝when I've loved someone ❞ Glaring at Annabelle why wouldn't the woman leave ? She didn't reacquired a nurse maid she would handle the pain and suffering in her own time . just like all the inflicted heart aches that Snow White had done a upon her . Regina would find a way to bring the woman down. broken and regretful how tragic. She made her bed and now snow can wallowed in it. the vein in her forehead began to throb and protrude prominently. Her voice a calm even tone. There was no need for yelling all she had to was to wait soon she could strike her enemy down . it suits me just fine Annabelle or have you forgotten who I am ? I'm the Evil queen I've destroyed a whole realm to get back at Snow for killing my true love . now I want you to imagine what I'll do now for my mother.hands curled into fists the mirror behind Regina broke from the anger rolling off her. Snow had to pay she had to suffer , that blood line had taken everything from her. Snow had taken Daniel and Cora ,Leopold her innocence and Emma Henry. No more no more would that simpering goody goodys take what's her . Regina would break them all none of her enemies would be left standing. who asked you to? I'm fine look at m.. ccovering her face with her hands in a rare moment the Evil queen broke for the first time in front of another person. She was utterly alone and the weight of it hit her hard. ❝ its with all my being ❞

Annabelle watched Regina softly setting the glass down silently on the table and stepping closer, what she said was true. Snow had done a horrible deed but not because of outside forces, it was her choice and the price was hers to pay but Regina could not see that she was already paying the price. Dearly. Her heart had never tasted darkness as it had now and regret was a terrible feeling if it was the only thing that echoed in your head.
"But you're not the evil queen anymore" She took another measured step forward but shielded her face from the shards that erupted from the broken mirror "I liked that mirror" she muttered softly "she didn't know love, you have Henry and that changes everything" her shoulders hung desperate for Regina to see the good she was capable of, to see the love she was surely capable of feeling and of giving.
But the harsh exterior of Regina crumbled sooner than Annabelle thought possible, perhaps it was not wise to approach her then but she didn't care. If only she had someone who consoled her when she was orphaned her sense of loneliness would be much shorter lived. Her arms engulfed Regina in a gentle hug as she softly whispered reassuring words to her friend.
"You're not alone Regina" the words were simple but true, she could only hope the honesty she felt was portrayed in the way she spoke, in the way she held Regina as she broke and finally let herself feel the loss she'd experienced.

❝when I've loved someone ❞ You're not alone Regina that simple phrase was meant to be comforting, to give confirming notion that she did in fact have someone on her side . but that was not how she saw it, hating to be seen as weak to allow someone to ease her pain. Regina didn't want that pain is what kept her grounded it gave her purpose , red ringed furious eyes snapped open. not alone ? voice cold and collected face twisting into a snarl , pushing the blonde away but I am alone everyone I care for is gone Daniel, father mother and Henry is in the clutches of those so called hero's. You have the audacity to say that to me ? the Evil queen was not incompetent she could see hr allies. There was none you would see me in imprisoned I've not forgotten our first meeting Annabelle. Don't feed me sweet words now that what I'm wounded . you think I will be generous ,kind from the recent events? Oh no I will not be kind there is no more kindness left and when I stand over my enemies bodies . I will take my son ,Snow may have won this battle but war is coming and the sweet princess will never destroy me ❝ its with all my being ❞

Annabelle stumbled back from the harsh rejection with a quick roll of her eyes and tired sigh, if only Regina could be good then sharing Henry with Emma could be so much easier. And Annabelle knew she had good within her, she was not born evil and if you can become something dark you can become something light. She only hoped one day Regina would figure it out as well.
"Yeah so if you're so alone with no one who cares then what the hell am I, a figment of your imagination because last time I checked I was here because I cared" her tone had become harsh and angered but she took a deep breath turning around and retook the glass into her hands. The Sherry warmed her lips and burned her tongue but she refilled it anyway thinking she'd need a drink to at least make it through this conversation.
"The first time we met I was trying to get thrown in your dungeon because I made a deal with Rumplestiltskin and I'd rather have you an enemy than him" she reasoned giving Regina the space she needed "you know all this, it's not the first time you bring it up" she traced the ridge of the glass with her fingertips looking at Regina, she was inching closer to darkness by the second and as much care as Annabelle held for her she could not let Snow die.
"You can't kill Snow Regina, there are too many people who will stand to protect her. Present company included and the moment you do succeed Henry will never trust you again. He's a child for gods sake and he is so scared that you will all kill each other and no one's listening to the poor kid. You don't have to take vengeance, you don't have to be evil" Annabelle shook her head sadly, she only came to comfort Regina and there she was desperately trying to keep a war from waging. Regina was slowly stepping back into her old habits, her old ways and giving in to the darkness within her.

❝when I've loved someone ❞ Yeah so if you're so alone with no one who cares then what the hell am I, a figment of your imagination because last time I checked I was here because I cared dark eyes slithered into slit glaring at at the blonde. oh you care ? How sweet mother Teresa shall I pretend to be touched and crumble and cry on your shoulder? I need no one other then my child . what you think this will make up for all the bad blood between everyone if you pretend to care for the Evil queen? Laughing heartily this was perfect one of the most deadly and powerful sorceress in all the realm being comforted by a ex thief an bar maid. By all that was holy that was precious. Tears and streaked black mascara ran down her cheeks . so you have just proven my point dear, any thing that comes out of your mouth will no doubt be lie . how do I know your not trying to use me yet again ? Hmm? No it was best to keep guard the walls up it meant no one could hurt you and that was all Regina desired at the moment no more hurt . if you all are so eager to die then stand with her I will not stop you. it was the mention of Henry that Mayor moved closer their nose barely touching do not mention by child he is no concern of yours . if he is so scared then after this war ends I'll make him forget not a horridly complex spell. snarled back at Annabelle a small grin on her face. ❝ its with all my being ❞

"That's your problem Regina, you keep thinking that I'm doing this because of everyone else. I'm doing it because somehow when the curse broke we started a friendship even if you will deny it. Get this into that thick stubborn skull of yours" she stepped closer tapping her finger gently against Regina's temple "I'm here because I wanted to check up on my friend, to hell with what's going on at there" her hands waved at the long wall of windows hoping to get the point across.
She sighed exasperated and threw her hands into the air "Oh for god's sake" she threw herself another drink and tilted her head back to welcome the sweet taste before she spoke again "One time and you won't let me forget it. One time I lied about my intentions and you never let it go. Screw you Regina, I haven't stolen a single thing that wasn't mine since you sent your toxic curse on the land, I have an honest job and if you recall told you time and time again I was sorry for what I did and now you're calling me a liar. Again. So screw you your highness" her tone angry and tired at the same time, the words bringing back a familiar memory of the day they first met. The day Annabelle ended up pointing a dagger at the queen's throat. But that was all behind her, why couldn't Regina forget it?
"Back when he thought his mother was the evil queen and she threw him into a dozen therapy sessions he trusted me. When Snow and Emma vanished to our land he confided in me. I care for him as if he were family so don't tell me he is no concern of mine when I would gladly give my life to protect him" she straightened her shoulders glaring at Regina "and if you do make him forget none of his words or actions will be true, they'll be as broken and fake as his memories. How can he ever trust you if you even consider that" her tone much gentles, as was her gaze trying to make Regina listen and do the right thing. Hoping she had changed enough to understand altering his memories would only cause problems, magic always came with a price. | |
